Welcome to RC (India) :)

You have a LOT of reading to do !  There are multiple build threads on this forum on how to proceed with building a 450 size heli.  Go through ALL the search results on the first page for the below search query as a start.

http://www.rcindia.org/search2?search=450+heli+build

I hate to say it, but do not expect people to repeat information that has been posted many times before, just become some just joined and asked for it again.  It just does not make sense.

If you are still stuck after doing your own searching and reading, by all means ask specific questions, and everyone will be happy to help.  But you need to figure out the bare basics on your own.

Lots of beginners have built their 450 helis using information available on this forum (and other online resources), and I am sure you can do it too.  Looking forward to your build :)

It depends on how to put the servo arm.

best way would be to connect the servos, adjust trim and then put servo arms.

hope this clarifies..

Heliboy, Connect any wire of motors to any wires coming out from esc.
Means u can connect wires without the color code. just spin the motor , and if it spin in opposite direction, just interchange any two wires and u will get the correct rotation.

Hi, Is it possible for you to make a small video showing the issues?

Title: Re: Help needed with 450 size heli
Post by: anwar on June 20, 2012, 07:30:00 PM
First of all, remove the main blades, until you can get the motor to reliable go from idle to full speed as you increase throttle from 0 to full.  If you cannot get the motor to do this, PLEASE do not put the main blades on. Getting the motor and main rotor to go from 0 to full together is a starting point in heli setup.

But from your description, you have confused the audience.  At one point you say "the motor will start and all will work", and down the line you say the "main blades just only turn, not even 20 degrees".  So which one is it ?  Does the motor really work at high throttle ?

A video would be very good at this point.  If you cannot manage that, please take your time, and post the symptoms in enough detail so that people can diagnose.  Take your time... go slow...  But list the problems and symptoms clearly and concisely.

I agree with Anwar sir, a video with definately help,

However make sure

1.  that the main blades are turning in clock wise direction when seen from the top and the tail blades are moving in clock wise direction when seen from left hand side (tail pointing at you) if this is not happing then just swap any2 wires to fix this issue.

2. A heli needs very less pitch moves like around 5 degrees of pitch to hover so you will not see 20 degree movement on Heli.

You are giving up too early, and without reason.

The main mistake you are making again and again is that you are not providing proper responses to the requests/questions by the members here who are trying to help.

I will be in Kochi some time between 4th and 10th of July (and again multiple times till end of August) if you want to meet in person.

In the mean time, I suggest you go through posts directed at you, and try to answer "to the point" ! Lots of beginners here have got these helis and built them, they just took it one step at a time following instructions and communicating back.

+1 to santhosh,
heliboycochin, to start RC, i got the 450 heli RTF. I was new to RC leave alone heli. Believe me i didn't even know how to switch it on. If you are telling RTF is good, think again, i crashed it within few weeks and i had to learn all the abc to fix them.  Takes some time and patience that's it. I don't know if anyone has suggested, but there are series or video made by sujju sir (one of the forum veteran and expert in helis), Please search the forum for hiller 450v2 build series. Watch them, They have information on how to build and and setup the electronics including the pitch curves and throttle curves etc...

Don't give up, its not rocket science , just takes some time :)

Please do not type in SMS language (or swallow letters in the middle of a word).  It makes your posts extremely difficult to read, as we are in a constant guessing game as to what you really meant.

It just does not make sense that people do not have the time/patience for that extra ONE second to write a full word, so that the many others who tend to read what is written have to suffer for the poster's lack of patience.

Please see guidelines here :  http://www.rcindia.org/rc-india-forum/forum-usage-tips/   (see item 7).

Hi,

You would be fine with a 50 amp ESC for a 450 heli. The following works well, you may wanna take a look and consider this esc :

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__10013__Hobbyking_SS_Heli_Series_50_65A_ESC.html

Hope this helps. And yes, please do be careful while connecting the battery, as most esc s' will get damaged due to reverse polarity.

Also, this is a plug & play, so you should not need to programme it, unless you want some advanced settings.

Regards,
Amit K

What about the turnigy superbrain 60amp  esc I gave  you ?  It's more than enough for your heli
