Title: My Dream Heli, A marvellous piece of engineering.
Post by: murcielago on October 03, 2013, 10:23:57 AM
This machine is in a class of it own. No heli be it mikado logo 800 or Compass 7HV or TT e820 or Goblin 770 comes close to it.

Its a bullet during speed runs and performs superbly at low rpm. It aint a ferrari or a lamborghini. Its a Roll Royce.

Mr. Jan Henseleit produces it in house. Nothing is outsourced like other top  notch companies.

Just the Kit price alone is 900 Euros plus Taxes n Shipping. The buyer has to wait for as long as 4 months (minimum) to a year sometimes a year . The total cost with topnotch electronics goes to 4000 Dollars.

But, wait and price are well worth the machine. I havent seen one personally but in videos with speed runs all you can hear is the blades.

Its my dream heli for sure. N on the cards now.

Another Rare out of production heli. The Suzy Laos.

The person built it for a charity project. The funds were used to raise a school in Laos.

An Ultra rare item. It is on my collection list.

I really admire you heli flyers and the mastery you have. I struggle with 4 channels on an aircraft. Someday..... :D:D

TDR and BANSHEE are two masterpieces. I will have to drop the idea of buying a new car to purchase one.

TDR for sure is fast...recently I came to India (haridwar, my home town)..here we have a huge open field on bank of ganga..people were watching me fly my logo and were feeling amazed (not coz of my skills ..lol..they never imagined such machines existed)..they said it was big but were not intimidated by it howver it was a fast low level pass of tdr that made them step back from where they were standing near me...i can tell you that they felt the roaring...at the end they said that  they really enjoyed...few even said if i can build one for them..this machine is really a no maintenance machine..i have not changed a single part or seen any wear in last one year of flying...banshee is attractive but kits were expensive and only 50 were made...besides i dont anticipate kit quality to be so good that it would give a significantly better flying feel...but i may be wrong as i have not flown one yet...goblin is another eye catcher in the field but dfntly not in the same league as tdr..

tdr is i guess built for speed its got a light and simple design ,but not rigid ,i doubt i will have the opportunity to own one or the privilege to fly one ,but out of sim experience with it ,its ment for speed and sport only ..dint feel good in 3d ...not like the goblin ...i hope the new goblin speed edition can come close to one of these  :banghead: :banghead:

Hi shakti nice to hear from you. Next time when you are in India ur welcome with ur machines to our field. Its a nice field where plankers seldom get a chance to fly. HELIS RULE in our field. I am falling in love with TDR.

@ shannon: u got to wait fo a race to happen. KDS AGILE7.2 looks good too n comes as a combo.

@ avesh: align got popular due to their value for money kits n delay of thunder tiger to introduce ccpm.

If u compare shannon's 6hv n my gaui x5 to align u will see the difference in quality of kits n they fly lighter than align. TDR cant be compared to any. Goes above 250 kmph in speed n the blade sound is music to ears

Lol Shannon would have killed me if I had Hiller written anywhere in this thread. He he :) . definitely TRD is the best, just in case you guys wanted to see a 2000$ heli racing a 2m car

Avesh i have seen that vid buddy. I hope Shannon attempts it with his 6HV.

Hey Shakti Do you have ur own video of flying TDR? Would love to see ur low speed pass. In ur signature i see 130x. I wanted it but seen so many complaints that dropped the idea.

Shannon: That Torque tube gear looks interesting in the first pic. Different design. Where do u plan to get it from? Helidirect hasnt got them in stock right now.

@doctor: thanks for your invite..I am still in India...i might visit Delhi next month..its always fun to meet heli addicts..i did not know about any dedicated field in delhi for heli flying..where do you fly?

130x is a good idea but a bad implementation...the heli puts a smile on your face when it flies..its good for tight spaces and for learning new moves. I love its size and flying characteristics. Having said that, it has huge vibration on tail right out of the box which gets manifested only at a certain rpm range during spool up..i bought it knowing the issue..i thought i will do upgrades and corrections. I did some minor upgrades but thats about it. I actually do not like upgrades and blings..initially i did a lot on blade 400 only to realize that it is money wastage..upgrading micros can sometimes suck so much money that you can build a 500 size heli with those bucks..lol.. if you like tinkering and upgrade buy it otherwise i do not recommend it at all..

I will post video of TDR as soon as i can.
