Title: My first CP Heli- the XK K110
Post by: SK1701 on June 07, 2016, 07:21:40 PM
I recently got my first collective pitch heli - the XK K110 RTF from Gear Best. Despite being an RTF, and GB declaring it as an RC Helicopter on the box (after I left a message clearly saying not to), I did not face any issues with customs. This heli is essentially a V977 with an upgraded tail motor and control board/ radio. The radio is fully programmable and pretty high quality for an RTF one and uses the Futaba S-FHSS protocol.

I have been interested in collective pitch helis for a while but found that the cost of repairs on larger helis is prohibitively high. I also do not have much space nearby to fly larger helis. So I thought that this heli would be a good start with collective pitch as it is small, cheap and durable. And at least I will have something to fly indoors during the monsoon. So far I have only flown in 6G mode with idle-up and it is great fun ;D. It is almost like flying a quad with self-levelling, though the negative pitch takes a little getting used to. I will need to find a nice grassy patch to try 3G mode and some loops and rolls as well as inverted flying.

I would appreciate any advice from the heli pilots here about flying this heli. Photos coming soon as well

Congratulations on your Collective pitch heli. I know how exciting it is for you .

Haven't flown the K110 but v977. I remember 977 was very Agile on the 3d mode and well, great for Learning 3D.

Since its a smaller heli and less power full then the bigger brothers, You will have nice time working on your collective management during rolls etc.
The only advice I would give is Order some plastic head parts soon as they break easily.

Do post pics and flying video
