Hello there,

I am new to this forum and would like to have some info regarding getting helis in India.
I heard from a indian friend that might be difficult to get them in the Country.
I will probably move from Dubai to Powei/Mumbai and I wanna bring my helis with me, 1 50size nitro included.
There are any restrictions from the customs and Is allow to fly anywhere or need to be part of an RC Club?

Thank you

Chris

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

No problems, unless you have many pieces of RC equipment.  Just put them in checked-in baggage, after a bit of disassembly (like separate the skids, tail, head and frame). Usually one heli (even 90 size) and one radio does not invite any questions, based on personal experience and experience of others who have done this many many times. If you are bringing more than one, please try to pack them in two separate pieces of luggage.

Locate a flying field in Mumbai, and going the crowd.  Flying a 50 size heli at some random place may not be a good idea.  You can search this forum for a list of fields, and contacts for those fields.

And a warm welcome to India and RC India Wink

Thank you for your quick replies guys.
I guess I need to sell a couple of helis Giggle
I have 1 Protos FBL, 1 Logo 400 FBL, 1 HC500SE, 1 T-rex 450 Pro, 1 Trex 450 SEGF (witch I use for nightfly Clap) and one Compass Knight 50 Nitro FBL.
Bring them all I guess might be difficult (but my company will offer me the cargo to ship all my stuffs).Don t know if the customs will go throughout all the boxes (like happen here in M.E.).
I am also fly 2.4 Ghz, and heard that could be a problem in India...... Head Scratching

Radio frequency is not an issue during transport, if you carry it with you (again in checked-in luggage).  Neither is it an issue while using it, if you fly at places where RC activity is routine.

For bringing in all helis, I would suggest batching them up, for your later trips, or seek the help of friends coming to India.  Sending them via cargo might cause customs issues.

Ordering parts is usually not an issue, except for

1.  There could be some (long) delays in customs.

2.  Radio transmitters being imported is frowned upon.
