Interesting... do you remember the source for this news ? Title: Re: One more heli size from Align - the Trex 550E Post by: samlikespad on September 02, 2013, 03:29:02 PM I just took a kit (without electrics, canopy and blades) from rcsmart.com.my last week! Should I be worrying ???
Title: Re: One more heli size from Align - the Trex 550E Post by: raja_mastana on September 02, 2013, 03:34:35 PM yeah ... getting a kit (450 and above) through is very difficult.
But since your package doesn't contain canopy, blades and electronics, who knows, you might be the lucky one! All the best Title: Re: One more heli size from Align - the Trex 550E Post by: samlikespad on September 02, 2013, 05:36:07 PM Thanks Raja... I was worried about the above post about 550s catching fire by Sujju. Sorry If I was not clear in my previous post. I have the kit with me and Customs (that too Saudi) was not an issue since its a kit :)
Title: Re: One more heli size from Align - the Trex 550E Post by: raja_mastana on September 02, 2013, 06:07:47 PM Haha Ok - anyway, those posts are quite old and dont think are relavant anymore. 550s are very popular
Title: Re: One more heli size from Align - the Trex 550E Post by: samlikespad on September 02, 2013, 07:11:44 PM Thank Raja! I have a 450 clone and not happy with the way it flies or not flies! Thought the 550e would be a better platform to practice ;) I haven't decided on the electics yet and most certainly come to you people for alternative options :p
Title: Re: One more heli size from Align - the Trex 550E Post by: Hellyflyer on September 07, 2013, 02:28:10 PM 550 would be good if you have some deep pockets ....otherwise stay with 450
Title: Re: One more heli size from Align - the Trex 550E Post by: avesh on September 07, 2013, 07:28:53 PM i think 500 flies way better than 450 and practicing on it would be fine..

Title: Re: One more heli size from Align - the Trex 550E Post by: avesh on September 07, 2013, 09:44:24 PM i wont rely on HK series for above 500 helis or atleast have major part replaced by align..
Title: Re: One more heli size from Align - the Trex 550E Post by: samlikespad on September 07, 2013, 11:34:12 PM Thanks dear all! Really appreciate the support :salute: .
I have already taken the kit couple of weeks back as mentioned in the first post (couldnt resist this offer as I paid nothing for shipping :) : http://www.rcsmart.com.my/webshaper/store/viewProd.asp?pkProductItem=5015 ) . I will still be trying to learn a bit from the 450 while slowly building the 550. But the HK 450GTpro has to be upgraded first as am not at all happy with how it turned out. A lot of slope and never reliable :( Will soon upgrade the head atleast. |
