Title: Problem with Heli Pitch
Post by: asinghatiya on December 27, 2010, 10:03:08 AM
Hi friends some problem with my heli (E-Sky Belt CP).

I changed my heli's
a) feathering shaft
b) Mail blade clamps
c) Main rotor gears
d) Rotors.

to upgrade I replaced its receiver with my Specktrum receiver. Swash movements are as it was (swash is moving upward when increasing throttle.)

After this, I found that pitch is reveresed. Now the heli is throwing wind upside instead of throwing down. (reversed).

I am  :banghead: how to sort this out?

What radio do you use ?

Earlier it was the radio with this RTF (esky belt cp v2) now I have upgraded it to dx6i.

with my earlier radio i cant see swash moving upward but rotors start moving.

with Dx6i i can see swash moving upward but now its reverse.

Honestly i am new to helis and I dont have a pitch Guage.

Usually, for this problem, you have to change PITCH from +50 (or +60) in SWASH MIX menu to -50 (or -60).

But I am confused about your statements above.  As you raise the throttle, did the swash go from "bottom to top" in the earlier radio, and now it is going from "top to bottom" with the DX6i ?  If that is the case, the solution is above.

In Dx6i swash is moving from bottom to top but the problem is same.

Also please let me know how much loose main blades shold be. Since I have replaced them I found that new blades are not that exact fit was the earlier once were. there is a ply between the clamps and the bladed (up-down play). Is it ok or I need to chek this also?

I know My problem is minor (may be minor) but I am not getting a solution for it. I did following.

a) Tried reversing servos but no help
b) tried blades installations in different combinations (finally they are in right side) but no help

there is not much possibilities in E-sky radio to do. Rotors are moving perfectly but with reverse pitch :banghead:. throwing air upwards :help: .

I know its not a unique problem but need  :help:

please tell me where i am missing some thing important??? how pitch reversed (before crash it was perfect) ???

And ya I am now using its default radio (esky radio) and not Dx6i.

have you installed the main blade holder in the right orientation?... some helis fly with leading edge control and some trailing edge control... dont know if this was mentioned earlier here if not pls check this out too

Thanks, you are talking about main blade clamp? Ya I installed new and installed in same way as the older one was. But I dont know if they can be installed in any other way too?? I have to check.

hi mate,
yes as above check whether the ball on the blade grips 'should be in front or behind the blade,
it will make no difference to flight weather the swash goes up for throttle or down so long as the pitch reacts correctly.
I have found the same to be for the blade grips, if they are not the way in the manual 'but' your pitch is correct it will not effect flight on these.

A picture is worth 1000 words.  Then, 4 pictures are worth 4000 words ;)

And a 30 second video, with 24 frames per second, is worth 720,000 words ! :giggle:

Anwar is right, :salute:  pictures for your reference. please tell me where this is wrong.

Pitch condition (which I think is not zero) when Radio is 50% throttle, all trims centered (throttle trim 0) . Ideal switch up.

Read this thread again, and I have to admit I am confused.  We have to take this slow and steady, with FACTS laid out carefully.

1.  Which radio are you having the problem with ? Or, are you having the problem with both ?

2.  If it works with one radio and does not work with the other, then post 3 pictures each of the head with both radios (with flybar level); showing the low, mid and high throttle positions.  Clearly mention which works and which does not.

3.  Did you disconnect and reconnect the motor ?  Is the head rotating in the right direction ?

yeah.. maybe the rotor is turning in the wrong direction?? i saw the manual and you have fixed the blade grips correctly... why dont you reverse your swash setting in the dxi.. let the swash move down but if the blades are getting postive pitch its fine too?...Don did mention about this..

Head is rotating in right direction.

problem is with this radio. Actually I tried once with Dx6i but then decided not to use that as I used it for my ready 40 and takng its receiver out every time is a pain.

Rotor head with full throttle
Rotor head with 0 throttle

Basically it is one of 3 things...

1.  Swash moving in the opposite direction => Fix via the Swash menu PITCH setup.

2.  Motor rotating in opposite direction => Switch any 2 of 3 motor wires.

3.  The head is built/connected wrong, and the blade grips are reversed (linkage from see-saw arms are on the opposite side) =>  Fix mechanically.

hi guys,
some thing else to consider.........
when the throttle is at half 'in idleup' the washout should be halfway up the 'pins' and 'all' the the arms should be level and both blades should read 0 degrees pitch.
you may have the links at the wrong length.

Hi Arvind,

As discussed, It looks like you have too much negetive pitch and the pitcture with 100% throttle shows very little +ve pitch and the pitches with mid stick and idle up shows too much negetive pitch where as it should be flat level parallel to the flybar (0 degree pitch) . So all you need to do is increase the length of the long links and make it level at mid stick throttle, idle up position and you will be good to go :)

The rest of the setup is fine.

Thanks

Hey sorry guys, forgot to update. Yes its now resolved but for that I extended the long links to their max.
Its now flying fine.
