Title: Rotortech blades at hobby king
Post by: RotorZone on April 30, 2010, 04:55:58 PM
HK seems to be getting into helis seriously. Reputed brands like Spartan and Rotortech are now available.

Wow ! Thats gonna be cool. That will indeed make Fbless available to the masses.
Flybarless reminds me, that I ordered a Fbless rotor head from HK last week, and planning to convert my Raptor to Flybarless sometime in July. Will create a new thread for that.

Some digging around shows it is SJGD FS600 (http://www.sjgd-tech.com/Engilsh/display.asp?id=62&PID=79) also branded as Axiom 720 (http://www.inertiarc.com/axiom_720)

Hardly any reviews so far. Price isn't very attractive either, hopefully HK has cut a better deal.

It is half the price of pretty much everything else.  "For the masses" is entirely relative. Most helis (above the 450) size are not for masses, by many yardsticks.

Not really! You can build a good 500 Size heli for as less as 9 K shipped.

Heli 40 USD.
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9388&Product_Name=HK-T500_CCPM_3D_EP_500_size_Helicopter_Kit__(Align_Trex_500)

Turnigy Servos X 3 = 14  X 3 = 42
HK401 B = 14 USD
Tail Servo Align 9257 clone = 13 USD
ESC Hobby King 100A = 23 USD
Turnigy typhoon = 24 uSD
Turnigy BEC = 4 USD
Shipping for 2.5 Kilos = 30 USD

Total = 190 USD.

Total = Rs 9000 not including customs if any.  :giggle:

Batteries and RX extra, you can steal them from other smaller Helis always and make a 6S using 2 in series.  ;D ;D ;D

You have to count the batteries and RX.  And you are only admitting that close to 12K (including battery and RX), in YOUR definition is a "for the masses" price :)

A lot of people may disagree !

OK 20 USD for 2 X 2200 mah battery and another 20$ for the RX (FM or corona or assan etc or even the AR6100 XYZ(dont remember) is available for 26 USD). thats 11k. still affordable for many for sure. If you consider the students category into picture then even a 2nd hand LAMA for 4k is not for the masses.

What I meant not affordable for masses means - a Gyro itself costing the price of a 500 size heli.

Of course, I am the "Soup Nazi" (for those who watch "Sienfeld" ;)), when it comes to quoting posts unnecessarily !  They really lengthen the threads and make them ugly.  I mean why quote, when you are responding to something right before ?  And why quote a 100 word paragraph, when all you are responding to one line of 10 words in the middle ?

COz when i clicked quote, all the above came automatically. this does not happen on RCG. Only the last one gets quaoted.
BTW you are looking after RCI like its your kid. How long do you keep cleaning. Once it grows bigger, its almost not possible. It will go out of hands.

BTW many heli flyers including me would have good number of 2200 mah battery, can always use them. I have 8 2200 battey. I can have 4 flghts on a 500 size heli. If you have a car and a charger then it a better deal.

That is what the "Delete" and "Backspace" keys are for :giggle:  It takes an extra 10 seconds only to delete out the portions of the quoted text that you don't want or that does not add value to the discussion ;)

I am sure I cannot do this if the forum goes to over 200 posts per day etc. Until then I will try my best, and then I will seek help from the community with such tasks !
