My Recent Buy ThunderTiger 1/10 SSK V2 Nitro Truck

Hi

After very long wait I tyed to flew my Walkera 1#A Heli, and unfortunately carshed it in next 5-7 min.
and break its servo and few other parts.

But I have following HK  Servo "which I used in Toy car to improve its performance"
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=14458

so I unpluged it from there and plug it in Heli but result is weared. (Check Video)
Its not comming back to its possition (Center), again in Toy Car its working Perfect

Please Help (I have Walkera factory Gyro and  in gyro setting I have selected Gyro as Non-Digital but factory servo Digital is written, but I suppose the servo I am using is Analog Servo )

As my gyro show that it support Digital Servo, Please Suggest some good servo for tail.

Heli=Diff parts flying together in close formation

You need to bring down the gain value in your Tx the behavior of the servo is fine with regards to a head lock Gyro it is suppose to behave like that, but if you want it to center back then you need to reduce the gain on Tx.

there is nothing wrong with the servo.. its supposed to behave like this when its on head holding mode (keeps your heli on one position even when a wind blows).. the issue you are having now if am right is to centre the servo (the servo arm should be in the centre when the tx rudder stick is centre)?... pls reduce the gain like hellyflyer suggest to 0 or -1 or +1 (am not sure of walkera tx but we what i mean to say is that when you move the gyro manuall the tail servo should not move.. this literally means that the gyro is not working)..
now at this position see to it that you have the arm of servo at 90deg to the tail push rod link and exactly centre the tail pitch slider and fix the servo in this position..
once this is finished move the rudder stick on the extremes and play around with the extent / limit dial on the gyro... then increase the gain to a place where you get a wag when hovering and reduce it by 2-3 click and leave it when the wag stops..

yes if the digital then switch the mode to DS -1 on the gyro if its analog then leave it on 0 position if not you might end up burning the servo.. lastly if the servo is analog pls also play around with the delay dial on the gyro if the servo is digital leave the delay to zero... and yes pls do not play around with the mixes (am not sure on the walkera tx how to play around with the gain)
however not sure if this will help.. try to see this vid hope it "might" come to some use

How I can check, the servo I am using is Analog or Digital Servo ?

When I am connecting my existing HK Servo with my Gyro and putting it on DS-on, then my servo is making continous motor running noice......
(I suppose it is Analog, but my confusion is i.e Analog servo is misbehaving on DS-on, will Digitall Servo also misbehave when on DS-off)
mean -->
Digital on Gyro -- Using Analog Servo = Continous Motor Running
Analog on Gyro -- Using Digital Servo = Huh?Huh??

Because on factory servo, Digital Servo was written but Gyro was on DS-off...

And resolve my center problem all I need to reduce Gyro Gain ....can you please tell me how much in %, because it show in % in Walkera. I have to check Tx Manual again.

I bought this heli long time ago, but done madin flight in last week and brake.

I have manual but its 4Mb so attaching link, there is lot of options in Tx.
can you please help me to understand their options....plzz
So Much confuse in
EXP - Exponential
PLT  - PLT Adjustment
PIT - Pitch Adjustment
RUDMIX - Ruddermixing Adj
Gyro
Rudmix Gyro

How I can check, the servo I am using is Analog or Digital Servo ? (this comes from the manufacturer)

will Digitall Servo also misbehave when on DS-off (no it will not, digital sevos run on both analog and digital mode but the optimum operation takes place on digital mode for digital servos as they run on a slightly higher voltage)

Because on factory servo, Digital Servo was written but Gyro was on DS-off...- usually factory default is DS - off. as they do not want you to burn you analog servo if plugged on DS - on mode.. if the factory has stated that the tail servo is digital and its normal to hear a servo chatter / buzz on digital servos... but if the servo is getting hot pls switch it off and plug it back on DS - off mode

can you please tell me how much in %, because it show in % in Walkera. this is stated in the manual that you attached .. page 18..... 7.2.1 ... put the V1 knob on zero and move the tail servo holder till you get the tail pitch is in the centre of the tail shaft, then turn the V1 knob to 75% and increase it slowly and when you see a wag on the tail reduce it by 2-3% till the wag goes off.. you are on head holding mode now..

EXP - Exponential - this reduces or increases the sensitivity of your stick movement (for ail, elev and rudder... have an expo of 25% initially so that the heli becomes less sensitive to the stick movements in the mddle
PLT  - PLT Adjustment - adjusts the travel of your pitch servo (according to the manual)

PIT - Pitch Adjustment - changes the pitch of the blades.. as a beginner have - 3deg  at bottom stick... 0 deg on mid stick and +8 or 9 deg at high stick

RUDMIX - Ruddermixing Adj - this adjustment gives input to the rudder in relation to throttle of ail or elev.. this is not required on when the gyro is on Head holding mode.. pls do not play around with it now

Gyro - already stated above

Rudmix Gyro - this gives input to the rudder in relation to the gyro .. not sure about this... hope someone polls here as this is not used for Head holding mode..again do not play around with this

hope the above helps you.

but first pls learn to fly ccpm helis on a simulator... this will help you a lot and also save your wallet.

regards
sujju

Hi Sujju,

Thanks a lot, for your precious time and share your valuable knowledge.
I am still trying to understand the things.....I understand following.

Servo part is completly ok, can you please suggest me some Digital Gyro, entry level.

PLT - ok
PIT - I suppose used for 3D flight, but I have turned off my heli 3D switch. so I thing then only at middle pitch of mainblade should be 0 deg (correct me !)
So I think I not need this option now, but how can I make it default Huh?
RUDMIX - What should be in default (I have changed transmitter settings)
RUDMIX GYRO - What should be in default (I have changed transmitter settings)

Thanks a Ton Sujju

you are welcome..
i dont think you require a new servo (unless you have burnt or your current servo is not working)... there are a lot of servos available in any LHS here including us at rcbazaar.com..
and pit adjustment needs to be done (using a pitch guage) and this is not only for 3d flight but also is used for normal flight... the pitch at low stick for a beginner i would recommned would be -3 deg mid... stick 0 deg... and high stick is 8 or 9 deg (for a 3 point curve)..
rudmix and rudmix gyro am not sure how to set it back to zero as am not sure how a walkera tx works but will check the manual in detail and will let you know..
also if any of the forum members have this tx their inputs will be more valuable..

Hi Sujju,

Thanks for your kind support, I am again reading its manual in deep,
and regarding servo, I have following servo as a spare, factory servo is broken.

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=14458

Operateing speed : 0.14sec.60o / 0.13sec.60o  (timing is  high compratively factroy one)

so what you suggest, can I use this servo as a tail servo or buy some new less time Analog or digital servo ?

i think you should go ahead and use this as you are still a beginner... (ideally if you can get a 0.08sec servo would be great..) but there is no harm in trying the one you have out rather than spending on another servo..

RCBazaar has some good servos for 450 class helis if you need a good replacement, like these

http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/800-avionic-hi-speed-metal-gear-9g-servo-avd90mg.aspx
http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/802-avionic-av590-hi-speed-24g-servo.aspx

They're analog and you may play with delay-pot on your gyro as sajju suggested.
