hi guys..
i recently got a set of Fitec servos - 6 nos of 9650 and 2 nos of 9257 (the futaba clones - usd 9.99 per servo)... the 9650 fit perfectly well on the 500 helis cyclics but i am having some issues with the 9257 servos (i bought the analog ones as they seem to be quite fast and i dont intent to do 3d stuff with these and the digital ones where out of stock)
once i initialise the gyro the servos tends to travel on one side only... example it react to the rudder input from the tx on right inputs only and does not travel when i move the rudder stick to the left side. i have changed gyros from align rce 600 to logitec to mystery to a kds gyro.. but the same problem persists... any idea where am going wrong...?? the gyro is on analog mode (or i will burn the servos if placed in digital mode)... i have used both rate and hh mode... did anyone of you had a similar issue with your setups?...
FYI... i used this futec 9257 servos on one of my trex 450's with the gy401 gyro with excellent results..

First question, does the same servo behave well (full range of motion) when directly connected to a channel (ie, without any gyro involved) ?

Also, I hope you have checked your end point settings for that channel (just to avoid the possibility that you have zeroed the end-point/travel-adjust for the left side).

If the servo itself works OK, and the gyros are themselves OK, then it is most likely something in the TX programming/setup. (Another remote possibility is a connection/wiring/contact issue).

Have you tried doing the setup on a separate model in the radio, after completely resetting it ?

Strange that I see this thread today... I happened to chance upon 2 helicopters (both Raptor 30s) belonging to 2 different people having the very same problem.. I was not able to debug it and I blame it on gyro programming.. One heli was using a JR gyro and the other one was using a Logitech gyro!! Let me get back on this once I solve the problem!

Strange.  I thought you confirmed that it was not a gyro problem by trying other gyros  Head Scratching

EDIT:

HK401B is a re-branded mystery Gyro. and it worked fine for me. There are 2 knobs on it and one is delay another is limit. This limit knob helps in setting the END point independent of the TX. Just wondering if your servo was centered using TX and this limit knob was limiting the movement in one direction only. Just my thought. Wink

i thought so... and yes i did change the servo and the gyros and played around with it... and finally saw that the gyro was the issue.. and frankly the mystery servos is a piece that needs to be thrown in the garbage... does not hold well on helis like the 500 and helis like the furion with high HS.. yes these are cheap but performance and quality go hand in hand with cost.

You fly a Furion ? Can't imagine somebody buying that and then be happy with anything but a top end gyro. Where are your videos ? (Anwar need not jump on me for video  Tongue)

Never noticed till now, quite a few helis in your sig. How happy are you with the bunch of 250 size ones ? I'd thought nobody will buy more than one considering how they fly.

just finished the built of my furion 450-3 weeks back... great heli... running it on scorpion 2221-6 with CC 60a esc,, planning to upgrade to 2221-10 with 4 cell and 10v cc bec..inference. excellent craftsmanship... superb control..
and the problem here (where i live in bahrain) heli modelling is not allowed so it was easier to slip in the 250's without much notice.. so came the sjm 215 c pro.. trex 250... gaui 200 v2(again an excellent heli) and hk250 gt for bashing up and use to do all experiements with the hk250 gt..  the best for me has been the gaui in the 250 range... the trex 250 with the tail upgrade of 250 se comes second and them followed by sjm and lastly the hk250gt.. will try to take some videos next time when i go out to fly..
