Title: v-bar spectrum analyzer
Post by: clayboy on January 10, 2011, 03:18:37 AM
man this is a grate tool.

looking for some vibration problem in my logo 400 and it was multiple problems and has been a pain to fix

now i could c what hz the different problem is in and and how bad the vibes are

so easy to c if it is tail main or some bearing or even gear mesh

 :headscratch: did not understand!

a vibe in the head or tail or somewhere else have different HZ and i plug the v bar in to my computer and  live mode in the software and run it on the bench and it will all come up on the screen if there is a problem

What is HZ? Also will the software tell u where the vib is?  :headscratch:

to set up the v bar u use a software, in that software u can click on spectrum analyzer then u go in to live mode and can run the heli on the bench with no main blades and tail push rod disconnected , vibrations vill come up as a graf and u can c what hertz the vibe have,

like a tail problem will have a higher hertz then main rotor, or a tight gear mesh will have a low 1 and u can c how bad the vibes are in different herz

Cool man! Is this on a Mikado?

This is based on DSP based vibration modeling of the Heli. They would have modeled what Frequency/waveform would be emitted if one of the parts or its screw are loose. So what you would require is simply feed the vibration (with help of Mic/other field effect sensors) attached to the heli to the Modeling software and the software would analyse the wave form and tell which part has the problem.

This is pretty common practice for diagnosing high end Cars, Jet engines  and other industrial mechanics from world of construction, manufacturing, oil rigs etc.

There he is using FBL gyro sensors.

Ujjwal, y dont u come up with such a thing? we can use it on helis!

Cool man! Is this on a Mikado?
yes but it is working with any heli.
and the event log is awsome to. rolling log . u can find out a lot of problem there.
like vibes. receiption . low volt. static. aso

Cool! If am still thinking if I should go Mikado. Price is a little on the higher side for me to afford. I already have 2 quarks, gy401 and planning on another quark.

this is a bonus that u will get soon on a v bar pro version
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rq0tXK1-8m4&feature=player_embedded#!

that with a cheep 100 amp esc

the cool thing with this is that v-bar already know what is happening , stick movements so it can be a head and start go give gas before it is happening, for sure for nitro it will b the best out there by far

think it holds the revs like my jive or better, hard to c on a video need a log do he have scorpion 4525 and i run pyro on mine but i can not hear any over rev witch is the hard part when it come to electric gov

just got reported that uli got rid of all over rev and some of the beta testers say better then jive,

talked to mr mel and he is testing it tomorrow and he have tons of logged flights with his logo 600 and very consistent flyer so i guess we will know soon

observe if some 1 is planning to buy a v bar, governor is only working on the version with lose sensor not mini v-bar]

How does a fbl system govern? It cant read the motor signals. Its just the esc that can read the motor signals  :headscratch:

same as a gov on a nitro, sensor on main gear then u run esc in airplane mode and plug esc in to v-bar instead of rx

i was just looking at a video with a graf attached of the new gov with a el cheapo hobbywing esc, very impressive, slight over rev but no bog instead , and was flying very good with standard setting and enough to adjust for freaks until they turn 100 year

this is grate news, even if a kontronik esc will be better it turns of efficiency  and reliability it is grate that it is possible  not have to pay 350€ for a esc and still have a top governer and for nitro it will be no competition

Clayboy - What brand lipos do you normally use ?  How many cycles do they typically last ?  And what charger do you use routinely ?

i am using hyperion chargers, and a mix of hyperion , tp , hk, es and can not say how many charges i can get. do i am traveling alot and can max bring 1 heli normally if lucky so alot of them lay in storage and get bad before i get out the cycles i should have, but my hyperion is over 100 flights and they performing very good, but i will c do i left them in india last time i was there, c how they perform when i am back

watched a few more movies with beta testing of gov and it is hard to say it but v bar is better then a jive, 25 + tick tock no rpm drop and only over rev when go from hard positive pitch to neg un loaded like coming out of a loop but that is nothing u would feel anyway

and bail out funktion for people that like to bail out when auto

now only try to make them safe so no hot starts then it will b ready for download

and for u guys with nitros this will b like a gods gift
