Hi friends, I am struggling with an RTF Belt CP V2. My fist RTF (& Heli too).

•First so much pain in getting it cleared from Customs.
•Pay premium on the total cost (to Postal dept.)
•Then I found that battery was faulty (one cell soldered with wrong polarity so dead)
•Then just after first flight I found my motor is not running, no wonders ESC burnt.

Give me a break yaar, had I spent this much on a self assembled one I would have ended up with a much better heli with lot of spares and lot of learning  about Heli systems. (I followed a youtube video to learn its assembly and spares)

Smiley What you guys think for beginner a RTF or assembled one, which is a better option ?

Let's re-evaluate what you said... beginner??? go for RTF Smiley It was probably your bad luck... I prefer DIY stuff and that's why I got the kit and not RTF. For sure lots of learning, but have a heart to face challenges as well along the way. As someone said... "Akal badam khane se nahin, thokar khane se aati hai"... learn by own mistakes... Smiley

Customs is never a problem unless ur luck is wayyy bad. There are people importing 100s of stuff, but they dont usually come here and report. even if u buy a RTF, once it crashes, its DIY.

So, I suggest what I did. buy a kit and assemble it. use sim to learn than RTFs or 3 channel craps!

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

If I were to start today, knowing what I know now (ie, after learning from all the wonderful people here), I would either build a foam electric plane, or I will build a 450 size heli from a kit.  THAT is what I would do, as I am serious about long term participation in this hobby.  I will also buy a 7 channel radio, if I can afford it.

I know, i regret the day when i ordered a RTF Heli. I would be the first person to jump on Vikas's deal Smiley unfortunately, now till I learn everything about a 6 channel heli flying, I have no motivation to buy one more....
