Here are first pics of my Boeing 737 model. Lot of work to be completed. Currently working on Main Wings. I have used Sunboard for wings, horizontal stabilizer and vertical stabilizer .... toooooo heavy . HD thermocol just can't hold it properly. Anyways it is not going to fly so no worries.

I will be working soon on main wing assembly.

Any suggestion for improvements are welcome...

Thanks..

Scale display model, perhaps? Good job done Shantanu - just re check the vertical tail dimensions.

Thanks all...

It is going to be a display model in one of the mall in Mumbai. I have also observed vertical stabilizer which is little odd. I am going to correct it.

Here are new pics of 737 under construction. Just ordered wheels for main landing gear from RCBazaar. Wings are almost completed. Next step is making engines and landing gears.

If all goes well model should be ready within a two weeks.

Shantanu, your build is beautiful...

I am sure your building technique, tips and tricks will come in handy for all modellers here, esp. for that round fuse...Would you have any for us?

Thanks you guys for your appreciation.

This is my first aircraft model. So I am learning and only practice will make it perfect. I believe studying the subject thoroughly before building model is MUST. As far as fuselage of this model is concerned fortunately I found HD thermocole in cylindrical shape which made my job easier. For nose section and tail section I had to carve the thermocol for the perfect shape. Model will look much smoother once I apply some coat on it (which I am still searching for). If you have any ideas please share.

Use paper mache method to cover this beauty. It will give it a smooth finish. It will give your model strength and also add some weight but it doesn't matter as you are not going to fly it.
Apply newspaper or tissue long strips with a brush and glue -water solution (2:1)

You can use spray can of clear coat. Search it in to any art and craft shop. but dont forget to mention that you want it to use on. Or else NC base clear will spoile entire job.

And plane is on its own landing gears.  Main landing wheels are bit smaller. I am going to order little bigger wheels....
Now next step making engines....
