Title: First World War Armoured Simplex 40Hp loco Post by: pline on September 21, 2015, 05:03:28 PM On the centenary of the WWI I completed a batch of 10 Simplex war dept. "tin turtles" in 16mm=1ft scale.
These locos are in brass with battery operated MOSFET 6v speed regulators. Originally manufactured in 1917 by the Simplex MotorRail company for serving the allies in the trenches, these locos were one of the first internal combustion 2' gauge locos ever. They were heavily armoured to work in the front lines and served in France, Mesopotamia and Belgium. Photos attached. Dedicated to the memory of the brave Indians who laid down their lives in the First World War :salute: Regards Nilanjan Paul http://pline.co.in (http://pline.co.in) Title: Re: First World War Armoured Simplex 40Hp loco Post by: ashok baijal on September 22, 2015, 10:12:25 PM Pline, your builds are just extraordinary.
