A Guillows Lancer / Javelin rubber powered FF Postal contest just concluded.
I had a Javelin kit bought ages ago. Was a good opportunity to put it together and participate in the contest.

Was a very good learning experience to trim an outdoor rubber power model to give satisfying flights.
Initial trimming flights were in the 20 sec duration. After final trimming used longer loop and recorded a flight of 61 secs. Was happy to hit the minute mark.
Will reduce pic file size of model and post.
Used thin grocery bag plastic for surface coverings and used iron to heat shrink and remove wrinkles. Worked out great. Tissue covering in Goa with high humidity tends to warp wings.

Final results will be out in a couple of days.

Fantastic. Had the flight time been more, without the DT you would surely lost it. Congratulation for participating in the world wide postal contest!

Was a great learning experience trimming the model to get some satisfying durations.
Yes, a longer flight would have drifted the model over the airfield boundary wall.
The next outing once the rains let up - will go to the far opposite side of the open space - give more turns ( this flight was 1100 turns) and should then extend the duration.
Need to learn how to install a simple DT - never done one.
This event has also injected in me more interest in outdoor FF.
Now waiting fir the rainy season to finish.
Will construct a couple of more outdoor models in the interim and get ready for some good outdoor flying sessions.
