Do not.
Do not use black powder.
Use potassium nitrate. MUCH more safer.
Plus the burn rate of black powder is much; much faster.
Use this method.

Plus;
Make electric fuses.
The best way.
IMHO do not go with fuses.They may be unreliable.

Both sugar rockets and black powder rockets use Potassium Nitrate. Burn rate depends on a lot of factors, including: mix percentage, chemicals used, whether its a core burner or end burner, size of nozzle etc. Both fuels if not handled properly can be dangerous.
Making black powder motors is easier and less time consuming  than sugar motors.

i know.
I just do not know where to get black powder in india.
After the delay;
you could again add more white mix.(see the video series know what it is)
But much more densely and packed on top with a thin layer of bentonite clay.
Most probably will produce the same result.

You probably wont be able to get ready made Black powder but the chemicals required to make it are readily available.
Potassium nitrate, Charcoal, and Sulfer can be purchased in their powder form, all you have to do is mix in the required ratios.
Using sugar and KNO3 as a reliable burst charge may not work.

Thanks ashimda. But I knew that. Manual grinding and mixing is not as powerful as machine ground and mixed black powder. That's why I am asking if ready made black powder is available.

Well pointed out shobhit17, but just to clarify, I have not given out any ratios and nor do I intend to. People in Kolkata love to make their own fireworks and I am one of those persons. I was just contributing to a topic which interests me.

Regards Ashim.

Well..... thanks for understanding what I meant friend...... on such issues we may hand over the knowledge to people very close to us and whom we feel can keep the knowledge with themselves and use it for the good of everyone..... there are plenty who do not understand the repercussions and just go and blabber it out.... we need to guard against such things.
