Two three things to keep in mind when you make rubber powered planes.1. Keep the centre of gravity a little to the front.2. As you add more and more rubber bands or power, be ready to add weight at nose in the form of paper clips. I found medium size paper clips are perfect.
3. If you use styroform plates as wings, tie a thread( Sellotape strips are perfect) to attach end of wings to fuselage so that when it flies the wings won't bend upwards.

Best and cheap model to get trained in RC flying.Got for 2.1K from eBay.Modified to a perfect glider from my experience with rubber powered models😊. Rises from ground or flies from hand even at very low altitude.

Build log:
1.First cut a Balsa wood (12*6 cm) fuselage 43 cm long.

2.Plastic prop 7"( bought from RC Bazaar) through a refill fixed with safety pin at a downward angle and hot glued.

3.Then made wing reinforcement with thin Balsa strip (4mm wide 27cm long) in a double V shape, fixed to another thin 4mm wide 10 cm long balsa strip at the centre ( bend to aero foil shape)

4.Attached 60 cm long 10 cm wide styrofoam wings with 10 cm sub fins on each end to the upper V.(hot glued a balsa rib at the centre of the wing)

5.Finally connected the wings to fuselage using a light weight packing foam shaped to attach the centre Balsa wood piece.

6.The stabiliser and rudder is attached at the rear end on a  4mm wide balsa wood strip 12 cm long.

7.Rubber power is 2mm wide tourniquet stripped - 48 cm long; mixed with six 4" rubber bands.

And the build time ....  Huh?  2 hrs y'day night after office hrs  Grin  Roll Eyes

Saikat, that rubber model of yours is that from the Aeromodeller plan? Victoria/Victorian something? The bamboo and piano wire legs look very familiar.

SI74, tip for you to win that 1000 voucher. Learn to read thermals/updrafts and these would help you break the 1 minute mark, but be careful, too strong and it would take away your pride and joy.

Are you still using Castor to lube your rubber motor? Switch over to silicone, that will not degrade your motor like other oils do.

Checked back to see if i was hijacking si74's thread.
Turns out it was started by arindamt! Who also successfully flew a rubber powered model.

Since some veterans (who know stuff like the Tomboy was designed by Vic Smeed etc, and much more besides) have joined this thread, perhaps an oldie can enter.

Tomorrow i will search for old mags and plans left over after burning the termite infested ones...

Looking for (old) plans for (presumably young) guys like si74 and arindamt. And kiran rc and jana.f22.

Hope to find a few over 50 years old.
Attached is a pic of a Sep 1953 issue of a mag, a sample of the places i'll look in...
And a pic of a 74 year old design i built last month (though with glassed depron wing and CF fuselage)
And a pic of a token gift for the first member to identify the design.

And this is the benefit of self made rubber powered planes. You may use your knowledge to modify a cheap mini RC plane for a controlled flight; rather than to spend money on sim.( for those who are reluctant )
