But Sad, The prop and rubber motor needs tuning and perhaps the prop is to be replaced, as it wont give sufficient power. The Pitch is to be reduced and the Dia to be reduced to get more RPM.

Another trick, this time. The plane is jointed by CA Glue.

Yes, but I used chilled glue as it gives nice bond. but after a while, I have to chill it again keeping in deep fridge otherwise, it just ate the pieces. Does anyone uses cold CA over thermocol without applying any other chemical mix.

The 20ml bottle costs me Rs. 25/- from Chandni Chawck hardware store having MRP Rs65/- printed on it without berganing.

Guru, phatiye diyecho!

For the benefit of the uninitiated, this is a typically Bong expression associated with extreme admiration for job well done. Loosely translated into Hindi, it would read as "Phaar diya Ustad!'

If you apply normal CA over Thermocole, it will destroy it. What I do is apply cello tape at the exact point of contact to both surfaces. Cello tape at the centre of the wing and cello tape the top of the fuselage - apply a very light layer of CA to both and stick! The cello tape will bond tro the thermocole and the CA will bind the cello tape skins to each other. Try it!

Kalyan, good job done, however, you may want to try using a standard prop instead of a home made one. The pitch and dia are difficult to match on home made / hand made props. Hobby Centre should have some plastic props available. GWS types.

All the best!

Yes VC,  First Thanks for appreciation, Secondly Thanks for the information of cellotape.

3rd a question, Is the cellotape glue found loose liquid form ?

I have a 7x4 prop. But that will be too good and the plane just flew like a sparrow.
I just tried by enlarging the dia like F1D, but the weight was become heavy.

The wings are to be shifted backward.

It got Appx. 3 styrofoam Plate and the glue was little bit thick in viscosity, that enhances the weight.

Again, the pitch is not constant at different radius as the slope is always equal all over the length, it's efficiency is poor.

Excellent KalyanProdhan,
I would love to see notes with pics and details of matrials used.

All the Best

Guru! chaliye jao.......

what i think, if you have electric oven then you could try to make a simple prop. by the way i made a canopy when my model was crashed. you need a thick polythene sheet.give the proper shape like prop and put into oven for 5-7mins. you can get a prop shape.
i don't know it will work or not but you can try it.

Just a word of caution of these CA glues available in plastic bottles. I bought 5 of them (Wembley labs Quickfix CA glue) for Rs.100/-. Seemed like a steal deal, however, they all went rock solid sitting on my shelf within 30 days. Something wrong with the packing.

VC,

Thanks for the CA info. I store over 2 months in my refrigerator (Not in deep fridge). It wont lose volume. The matter can be well informed after tightening the cap and after keeping 5 minute in normal temp, if you got smell of CA, then it must contain micro opening or got high volume waste outside cap. If 2nd is not present, then the CA will evaporate.

After closing I just  keep in normal temperature and then smell. If smell found, just shake the bottle gently to wet the entire bottle and nozzle so that some CA will close the opening and after 5 min you wont get the smell that mean, the leak gone.

But better is not to store and purchase when necessary as I got huge supply.

Rohit,
Just from Chandni chawk & lenin sarani crossing, go towards sealdah and you get 2nd or 3rd shop which is hardware(Some low floor and about 12' wide opening). Just ask for venbond. you can go further and found salesman in front of the gali selling different adhesives and tapes, films etc. Then you can just pick up, bargain & purchase.
Rohit, I have configured the Tx+Rx and showing in another thread after opening & configuring internal switch giving description in another thread.

Thanks

VC sir,
these chloloform based CA glues, create same problem to me as well. U can use a Flex-Kwick by pidilite, which i use. these cost rs 10 more for 15 gm bottle.I have never seen them hardening if i kept them for three months or more unopened. however i try to consume the bottle within a month when i open it..
