Precision Paper Planes = CAD/CAM/CAE

Hi all flyers and aerodynamix experts!
I am the Pure Paper Plane Guy.
Discovered the group thru some research.

This may not be the appropriate platform to discuss
the legendary Dr Y. Ninomiya of "White Wings" fame.
White Wings are originally [ 30 years back] hand cut,
hand chuck card stock gliders - over 150 models.

I have cut and assembled over 100 of these delightful
paper paper planes = 1500 series : most prized are the
Original Collection and Heritage models. I have some limited BRAND
NEW stox of 1500 series : 1503 = Future of Flight EXOTICA EXTREME;
and 1504 = History of Fighter Jets. all are simple to assemble with detailed instructions
for each model and dihedral gauges and flying instructions.

Later models are all pre-cut to micron precision thru laser cutters,
not die-cut!!!

Any ORGANIC flyer, who believes in the elegant and economical methods
of free-flight balsa and paper planes can contact me. My collection is larger
than what the Company has and at competitive prices.

All advisory and " proof-of-concept" models [ for display] available for Bombay
aeronauts, only.

We have conducted over 100 workshops for young schoolkids [ 10 and 12 years old]
since May 2009.

Precision Paper Planes = CAD/CAM/CAE

[Admin Note] This post and others below were split from http://www.rcindia.org/for-sale/beautiful-gliders-for-sale!/

These are all CHEAP CHINESE CRAP and cannot be converted into RC flight [ with a M Sc in Physics and 40 years
of sophisticated ' build + fly' petrol engined planes] the wing loading cannot take even micro components.
These are at best "catapult gliders" ; see www.whitewings.com , for the full range.

Err... These are called "chuck gliders".
Chuck = throw.
And throw needs one hand. So even if you are handicap with one hand and know how to build the glider the right way it would classify as a good product. Well it would certainly be crap if one does not know how to build them right Cheesy

Hello Sir jee,
I am neither an MSc nor have 40 + years of modelling experience but I can tell you this much that the chuck gliders in the Yellow Bird class and even smaller models have been sucessfully converted to RC. Even without the RC component and in pure chuck class the YB has a record of 90 seconds or more duration. I have been able acheive more than 70 seconds myself. And I am sure that you would know about peanut scale, class where the models routinely have even lower wing loading and flimsier construction when compared to the chuck/catapult.
And wing loading has no relevance to whether it can take RC equipment or not, Rather it would be whether the resultant wing loading due to rc conversion would be withstood by the design. I am sure you meant to say that the design/enginerring of the structure would not be able to take the higher wing loading due to installation of rc equipment.

And if you comapre the aerodynamic loads experienced by a catapult glider just launched off the catapult, it would be many times greater than those experienced by a slow flying rc conversion of the same model. So I am of the opinion that the catapult class is engineered more strogly than the typical rc models.

And BTW all are not from China, the YB orginated from Engalnd.

If you are referring to the ones at the initial post, it is a different matter

Plese be clear which planes are you talking about. These ones are indeed balsa plane kit made locally by VC. The planes in the post #1 is indeed Chinese (like so many things sold in the market) and needs expert like Sundaramvelar sir to convert to RC. Hard but not impossible

Hey Guys, Don't get me wrong but you've got a lot to learn before you give advice to an old man.
I have been flying petrol-engined planes before you were infants!!!!!!!!!!!!
Build some authentic paper planes and learn the "Science of Flight" and then let fly?Huh?Huh?Huh?Huh?

We are all learners here Sir. Cheap Chinese Crap and Cheaper Indian Crap is what we are learning with. We do not possess MSc's but some of us do have 30+ years of Aeromodelling experience, while others have more than 20 years of experience of flying combat jets and commercial aircraft. However, we don't start by denigrating, talking down and insulting others the moment we join a new group. (Perhaps, given time, we can learn that too - if we get some good teachers.... Giggle)

Oh by the way, NONE of us have got you wrong - you can rest assured!

As I said before, we are all learners here - VERY FAST LEARNERS! Bow

I also confess that if Mr Grewal is into whiite wings, he sure has good/excellent experience and knowledge (these whitewings are superb flyers)
You wont beleive, it long back I had built a ruber powered model, which was entirely made of paper. The required quality of paper not being availble , it was not a very good sucess, but it was sure fun. With learning over the years, I guess I could replicate that with thin Al sheet and it would be nice flyer. Need to search for the plans which I am sure I have it stashed somewhere.

I think there's no harm in listening, and learning.

If  some body says he have so much experience and  learned so much that no body can teach him, I would say, he has learned nothing. Learning and adamant behavior do not go together. ( Vidya Dadati Vinayam = Knowledge gives you humility)

I have been seeing balsa chuck gliders being sold not only on this fora, but N number of places. Same designs with different names, rough quality with no instructions with them. No innovation no new designs.

Paper gliders and planes, new concept and design, fresh gust of wind on this forum.

I would like to know more about them.

Information sharing improves knowledge of both.

May I request please to check the pages translated version under reference to check the small RC dimension please with weight referances.

This is absolutely against the topic, but to stop off-topic posting and rethink for RC future I request all them to act insted of react please.

I am not a young even, only a baby in this field so don't take my comment into account. The chuck gliders are the basic model to learn Flying and conversion to RC [Not for the model but the modeler.] and that is why they are here and the subject is

Precision Paper Planes = CAD/CAM/CAE

White Wings = invented and patented by Dr Y. Ninomiya, in japan [1980]
Originally cut and assemble kits [15 models in each kit] are now available
in pre-cut [ laser cut to micron accuracy] with aerodynamically accurate
aerofoils. Starting with the simplest Trainer and progressing to 3 model
"Jets = F-86+ F-4 + F-15 in FULL COLOUR AND DECALS. Biplanes and Passenger Planes are also
there in the THREE Model kits.
There are a number of 6 model kits of "USAF Jets" , "Hi-performance" and "Sports gliders".
Have some "Special Performance Gliders =08 models" used at
competitions. Also have the acme of achievement 15 inches long
"Tri-Linear" 03 models [which are unique in being made of the
patented "KENT" card stock that is stronger than steel and lighter
than aluminium.

Please mail me , and if in Bombay, we can meet and you can see
my "proof-of-concept" stox = approximately 60/70 variants that all fly.

Do not try to defend the indefensible, that is "Giant SkyRacers" are RC
convertible. That may be feasible, but not practicable under the original
design conditions. See "Strength of Materials 101".

We would like you to be associated with us on this forum, please let us be civil about it.

You have a good product to sell and we are interested - just get on with it. And if the White Wings gliders are only for sale in Mumbai, please specify that.

The current world record for flight duration was set by Toda-san in Japan
at an elapsed time of 27.9 seconds. The previous world record was set by
Ken Blackburn at 27.6 seconds [ indoor session].

The current distance record , set in a B-52 hangar, is 204 feet;
the previous distance record was 193 feet.
