flying is my passion

Hi Everyone ,
I need help regarding reducing the jello effect or wavy appearance in videos taken from my quadcopter.
I am using following setup for my quadcoper.

1. Frame: 450 size glasssfibre frame ( Red & white arms)
2. Motors: Multistar 800kv V2 brushlessless motors ( NEW)
3. ESCs: 20 Amp Simon K
4. FC: DJI NAZA - M LITE
5. Batt: 4200 mah 3S 11.1 V
6. Gimbal: Quanum Q-2D 2axis brushless gimbal (NEW)
7. Props: 10x4.5 carbon fibre Props.

8. Camera: SJ4000 HD camera

all thing are working good except videos Bang Head Bang Head. I read all about how to reduce jello effect like Propeller balancing, motor mounts, gimbal position, tighten nuts & bolts etc.
After doing all these things still i am not able to get videos without JELLO EFFECT.

Please Help to get JELLO free videos  Help Me Help Me Help Me

Here is Link for VIDEO taken by my quadcopter

Bit strange...with gimbal and all.

You need to test the extent of vibration. I use two apps on android - Vibrometer and Max Vibrome. You should run each motor separately without props and note the vibration in each arms at mid throttle and max throttle. Then run all motors together and measure vibration at the central position. Also check vibration after attaching props if possible by tethering the quad securely. That way you can isolate the problem. Also try 720p 60 fps video, although with minimal vibration jello should not be present even with lower fps.

I had a Syma X5C quad where I had this kind of jello. I damped the camera mount with adequate foam and it was reduced.

In my other quads I have no gimbal attached just damping rubber mounts. Although videos are not smooth because there's no gimbal but jello is not apparent because vibration is minimal. Here is a sample

By the way, I hope the SJ4000 is a genuine one. The market is flooded with fakes and definitely the quality differs.

Too much dampening may cause jello to increase. Try Graupner style e-props to reduce jello. You can also try to attach your battery to the bottom plate where the gimbal is attached, that will help reduce vibes as well. Another option is to use an ND filter to slow the cameras shutter speed, which reduces jello significantly.

Thanks santanucus & ashimda ji for suggestions. is it possible that vibrations are also from GLass Fibre FRAME which i am currently using???

If vibrations are from frame then i will replace it with CARBON FIBRE frame. And from where i can get ND filter for SJ4000. Help Me Help Me

Regarding frames, I am not sure but experienced members may be able to answer. But I have transferred a quad from ST360 plastic frame to a 45mm glass frame and it vibrates so much that its basically unusable. I don't know if its because of the glass frame or because of the prop mount adapter. In this frame I have to mount the motors on an adapter which could also be the reason. In the previous frame, the motors were mounted directly on the arms. Rest of the quad config remains the same.

Carbon fibre will produce less vibrations than glass fibre. That being said, just changing your frame will not solve your problem completely.
Vibrations will have to be reduced at the source. Balancing props and motors is a must, even then you may still have resonance problems.
Since your using 10" props, try 9" and see the jello decrease.

Patient Zero

Try isolating the camera itself, add a piece of foam in the recess in which it mounts to the gimbal. You might require longer screws for the retainer.

No there is no video editing software to remove jello..
Best you can do is balance the motors and props and add some more vibration dampening
See some videos and try their tricks
Might just work

I have found that sometimes, using foam or other dampening materiel makes the jello worse. Try hard mounting the camera to the frame without any foam or other materiel, see if there is any improvement.
