Title: BUILD and fly a Nano FPV X Quad with Nano Multiwii (5.8 Ghz)
Post by: sundaram on February 28, 2013, 03:10:05 PM
Watch this space for build log and FPV flight of a Nano/Micro quad using Nano Wii and FPV 5.8 Ghz.

All the electronics parts required have been ordered received and only thing left now is to make a robust and light quad frame using carbon fiber rods and plates and a power distribution boards.

Parts used and their sources are as follows

Nano Wii

Propellers I am not yet decided since the NTM which I have is both 3S as well as 2S capable and based on the final weight of the quad I am planning to optimally match it for the longest endurance.

Endurance is the main target here.

After removing the unwanted connectors Nanowii is going to weigh just about 4 gms.
ESC after removing heat shrinks and extra wires would weigh about 4gms each making it a 16 gms in all
NTM is 5 gms each making it to about 20gms
Camera 2gms
Video Tx including a small clover leaf, 4.2V BEC is 9 Gms
Propellers for would be about from  10 to 16 gms
Lipo would be anything between 30 gms to 50 gms
frame expecting it to be under 20 gms since being made with carbon fibre.
6 channel Micro receiver is planned to be removed from casing and used as COB with min wiring so add a 6gms for that

So the total AUW is expected to be between 110gms to 140 gms may be even less.

Each motor can generate about 60 - 130gms of thrust I would be aiming for lower thrust in the  prop combination and Lipo for endurance and cooler sytem and lower AUW.

 :hatsoff:

110 gms is no where near nanotech man  ;). I am just humoring myself  :).

May be I will go much lighter with a single cell system later with 3 gms brushless and a 3 Amps ESC later after this with same FC. Mind you the camera and the Video tx is Single cell capable but the Multiwii is not it needs 5V I suppose.

Arun dont buy that tx unless you are very good with soldering very delicate components. I am using the same on my shikra.
