Title: Building a racing quad.
Post by: Zaz02 on July 29, 2017, 10:53:55 PM
Hello friends,
I have decided to built a racing quad,
But the problem is that I am totally new to flying RCs.
But I have a lot of experience with land RCs like traxxas Tmaxx, etc.
So I am looking for help in this field.
I have gathered some knowledge on quad building like
A frame
motors
esc
Flight control,
Props
Battery
Transmitter and reciever
Please tell me other required things to built a decent quad.
Thanks

I think you have all the parts needed to build except some propellers(check quadkopters.com).  Also you will need building tools like soldering iron, solder, screw drivers and Hex drivers etc.
Also check out a video of 'UAV futures' it is a drone channel, check his video- how to build racing drone under 99$.  He used similar parts which you have bought. It will help in the build process.

I have got a problem.
It would take a lot of time to reach here by aliexpress, so I request if there is any member who can give me the links of these products available in India.
I would be very thankful.

So from where did you order the parts ?
As far as battery is concerned you might want to go with anywhere between 1300mah to 1800mah at least 40C

Title: Re: Building a racing quad.
Post by: Zaz02 on August 28, 2017, 01:25:22 AM
I ordered all the parts from Aliexpress.
Can I use a 2200 mah 55c battery for it?
Because by my calculation I need battery which produces more than 88 amps of current.
So this is the only battery I am currently getting.

That will be more than enough. But it might be quite heavy for this size quad
Lighter battery will give you nice performance

The problem is am not able to get a battery which is less than 2000mah and greater than 40C
Then only I will be able to balance the current.

Also camera angle seems to be incorrect, it should be at least 30° up.

Post by: Zaz02 on August 30, 2017, 06:07:18 PM
How I mount the camera 30 degree up ?
There is no chance of adjustment.

Title: Re: Building a racing quad.
Post by: swapnilnimbalkar on August 30, 2017, 06:26:00 PM
there should be a plate to mount camera which comes along with the frame.

or u could stick a form below the camera .. make a wedge at 30 degrees :) also place it a bit inside the quad body to avoid the lens getting damages in a crash ( which you will ) :)

You have got SP racing F3 board right?

So you can either hook up your TX in PPM mode or PWM mode.

which TX/RX do you have?

Refer the SP racing f3 manual: http://seriouslypro.com/files/SPRacingF3-Manual-latest.pdf

I used PWM mode.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170912/e9e97392b3929313fedac63ca30cb8f4.jpg)

So
I have now properly hooked the reciever with the F3 flight controller and my throttle, rudder and everything is configured with the cleanflight configurator.
But its not accepting any comand with the transmitter.
No response for throttle.
What to Do ????

You need to arm your quad. Normally default is throttle at 0 yaw full right hold it there for a couple of seconds.

you need to set RX_PARALLEL_PWM in Receiver tab.
