Title: building new quadcopter
Post by: hawx on February 25, 2013, 12:02:34 AM
Hi guys i'm basically from pune and a noob in quadcopter building. So i have decided to build my quadcopter for aerial photoshoot and fun. SO the setup i have decided is as follows
1.Propeller 9x4.5
2.4x980kv brushless motors
3.Cirus Multiwii SE V2.0,but do i have to buy this advance flight controller,or should i go with basic one,but the quadcopter i'm building will go further improvement in stages
4. Turnigy Lipoly 2200 mAh or should i go with QK LIPO 3300mah 11.1V 25C/50C.

Ok so the only question remains about the frame and other equipment. Can you guys please add to it other equipments i need to add above list, also please tell me from where can i order it.Also has some of you guys order from hobbyking.com,is it reliable source and do we have to pay any custom duty on the items bought???
Is there any problem in ordering in such a way.My budget is around 10k,i have to get the quad up and running in that budget.
also can u guide me to link on step by step building guide to quads in this forum...

Can you post the link of the brushless motors and what ESC are going to use with that motor. These 2 factors depends are lot for choosing a battery. If you are aim for building a quad is for aerial photography then you should go with Reptile FPV frame (http://www.quadkopters.com/product/reptile-multicopter-500mm-quadcopter-fpv-frame/) its build for FPV purpose.

Cirus MWC is no doubt a very good controller, if you have any interest in programming you can change the codes as well as per your needs. There are lots of threads about this in RCG.

10K is a tight budget cos you also need a transmitter if you dont have one. My suggestion would a programmable transmitter, with which you get to change the trims / sub-trims or timers on the fly. Its a good handy feature, you will really find it very usefull.

Thats my suggestion

may be you are just starting... so no flying ...

HK is great ... no problem for orders below one KG  ... but it depends on your luck (99.99% parcel below 1kg come very easily)

about your budget.. for starting it will work but down the line you will need to spend 2-3K for repairs.

all the best.
