Title: Can i use this combination
Post by: puneet123456 on February 14, 2016, 06:42:32 PM
Hello everyone i am new here i have build my quad but having some problems in stabilising it , these are my specs :-
1000 kv motor x 4 a 2212 13 t
esc 30a
props 10 * 4 composite
battery 5200 mah 3s multistar 331 g
flysky fsct6b tx and rx
kk 2.1.5
here are my mixer editor values :-
ch1                ch2           ch3            ch 4
t + 100         +100      +100         +100
a -71              +71         - 71             +71
e +71             +71         - 71              -71
r + 100          - 100       + 100        +100
i calculated these after watching a video on youtube
i want to know whether above specified components combination is possible , actually when i give full throttle my quad does not lifts enough, i have esc calibrated well all motors are spinning at same throttle but not enough lift i think it will stablise when i adjust trims but please tell me are motors and props enough for  this weight around
here motor pic http://www.ebay.in/itm/like/281923369167?aff_source=Sok-Goog
here esc pic http://www.ebay.in/itm/like/281912792962?aff_source=Sok-Goog
i have nothing to weight my quad so as per component description  its weight can be approx 1600 -1800 g let it 2000g or 2500 g then what motors and propeller can give 1000 - 2000 m range or more

It should give ample amout of thrust power...... Low kv motor plus 10/04 props.....
I think  this will produce 800gm of thrust per motor.... 4*800 ie 3200g of thrust
(i used similar kind of components )

Can u provide me with the link of ur battery..... May be its not being able to provide that much discharge rate...

Plus always check configuration  and motor layout..... Ie is it  in X mode....  Or + mode...... Is the motor layout right  i mean m1, m2,  m3 and m4 should be connected as per the layout.... Then this should be in respect to the KK2.1.T BOARD ORIENTATION.

THEN CHECK MOTION of motors..... Check direction.... Check if cw rotating motor has cw props while ccw motors have ccw props...... But as u said its flying  then this shouldn't be a problem...

But if u r confident enough...... Then you can think about resetting it...... The default numbers are good enough to fly multirotors...... Try re calibrating esc and acc......  And do not change the default values in mixer editor.....
And last but not the least Check is the size of props/numbers on the upside of the props......

the mode i am using is x mode and one of my motor has no thrust washers and retaining clip so i have used thread rolled with fevicol motor give a little bit strange sound then others but works well i think should i change that to , also please tell me whether above battery is good or not , i also want to buy thrust washers but unable to find please tell me where  i can get those

This is the frame i am using
Please also suggest me the best battery if the above mentioned is wrong one

5.2*10 =52
mAh * constant discharge

13*4=52
amps required by each motor * number of motors

This is working neck to neck...   ......... I think this is the reason... Try a battery which can provide more power.....

mAh * constant discharge >amps required by each motor * number of motors
Atleast 5 to 10 points more..... I believe u should try a battery  like 3.1 ah*25 discharge rate

Explanation
3100mAh = 3.1Ah

There will be 2 more  things to note discharge rate and peak discharge rate ( eg Discharge rate 20c, Peak discharge rate= 25C)
Like 10c and 20 c in ur battery specs...
Therefore as per my eg
3.1* 20= 62

Thankyou very much sir I got your point but is there any way to increase the discharge rate of 5200 mah battery bcoz it will be useless and please tell me whether thrust washers and retaining clip those c shaped clips in motor shaft make any difference

Please re-check my above post...I corrected the formula........

Now to answer ur question
No i dont think so.........Mostly we use these big batteries in racing cars i suppose.....but even those rc cars need high C rating

I dont know much.....about washers.....but its something like removing fuse from electronics... :P  Do not remove anything from electronics..They are meant to be in those electronic things thats why  they exists that way...    Getting my point....?
It may be for efficiency, It may be for performance. It may be there to secure the motion... So i wont recommend removing the parts

But i think That C shaped clips are important and these things make the rotations little more secure... These are the locks for the motors... You wont like ur motor parts to go wonkers/ crazy due to sudden impacts. That may hurt someone......
You can open a motor only if you remove c clips... So you may now think how important c clips are.

Thanks for info sir this was the problem but please tell me that how high rated battery can I use for longer flight time can I use like 5200 mah 30 c or 40 c with these components or is there any limit , with much c can cause any damage and I also want to know where I can use this 10 c battery is it useless can I tweak its c rating by any means

20c to 25 c is more than enough for simple quads.... Just do the calculations...Maintain thrust and lower the weight :)
3100 with 25 c will be sufficient....Higher capacity or higher c will increase price drastically.

Above 30c (Mostly 50 C batteries) are used in the case of racing quads...And remember High C ratings provide peak discharge for 10 secs at most....Its not recommended to overburden ur battery or ur motors esc combination...

Search for satya sir..He is the owner of Quadkopters.com. He is an active member on the forum....
He can guide u better :)

U can use the cells of this battery later :)
or u can sell it in this forum :)

ok sir thankyou very much sir you said that you use same components can you tell me what settings for self level and mixer editor have you set in your kk 2.1.5 board are you able to hover with your quad , bcoz i am not able to do so

It has been a while since I've used the kk but I don't think you need to adjust values in the mixer editor unless your frame is significantly asymmetric. I used it on a Reptile 500 (dead cat style frame) and it flew fine without any adjustments in the mixer editor. Upgrading to newer firmware and PI tuning are the most important for good flight performance.

Sir the gyro and acro bubble is in centre and my quad has f 450  frame so i have not made that so i think it should be symmetric what can i do to stabilise it

Exactly...Use the default values........!!!
Self level value was, i think around 40.....

Sir I want to know about frame design calculations where can I get those like like length angles etc any book for basic to advance or anything
