Title: FPV Tricopter Build!(rcexplorer.se frame)
Post by: RcGuru on November 20, 2013, 11:16:12 AM
I just finished with the build of my FPV Tricopter ;D, its body has been copied from the frame made by David Windestal (http://www.rcexplorer.se).I always wanted a multicopter for fpv since I started flying FPV, they consume lesser power than a quadcopter and the viewing angle is increased in the front if you would want to use a GoPro or other wide angle cameras! After about 4 hours of build time and 2 days of trimming( :P) I was able to control it and it fly's very stable and takes off on about 15-20% throttle on a 3s and about 10 % throttle on the 4s. I will add my FPV setup as soon as I can fly it easily and smoothly! My setup is :

Flight control board : KK 2.0 (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__24723__Hobbyking_KK2_0_Multi_rotor_LCD_Flight_Control_Board.html)

ESCs used: HK Afro 30A Multicopter escs  (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__39708__Afro_ESC_30Amp_Multi_rotor_Motor_Speed_Controller_SimonK_Firmware_.html)

Motors: HK Multistar 2216 800kv Brushless motors (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__39037__Turnigy_Multistar_2216_800Kv_14Pole_Multi_Rotor_Outrunner.html)

Props: 10x4.5 CW/CCW SF props (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__25819__10x4_5_SF_Props_2pc_Standard_Rotation_2_pc_RH_Rotation_Blue_.html)

Servo for the tail: MG90S Metal gear servo (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9392)

Ubec: 3A with Noise reduction (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4319)

OSD(for fpv) : G-OSD V3 (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=36801)

What is the auw without batteries?

I had been to Goa last year in Feb with my wife.

I really missed my quad that time, its really fantastic to fly on beaches. Nice video there Prateek, did you fly FPV or LOS?
