Larger the better, larger motors, longer props, more flight time, more thrust. But depends on your configuration. what you want to fly, thrust of your motors, purpose, payload you wanna lift, etc etc. But I would say 450 is a standard frame and good for beginners.

The number refers to diagonal motor-to-motor distance in mm.
It has been a year since I built my Reptile 500 (450-500) size and now I am considering selling it. It is so big that it is slower and less agile. 250 size racing quadcopters are now becoming popular as they are very fast and agile, though they have less payload capacity and flight time. Due to their smaller size and lighter weight they also take crashes better. If I was starting in quads again, I would go for a 250. Unless you have a specific purpose for a big quad (such as payload lifting, aerial photography), you may want to look into 250s. There are several excellent flight videos on YouTube. Check out some by pilots like Charpu, Mr. Steele, BanniUK.

totally  agreed with SK1701 .. i also have 250s .. and they fly like fire .. i never assembled a big quad because of their cons ... if u want to start then direct jump into 250s .. they worth it .. u can also make decent videos from go pro or xiomi yi ... but u want to flim in 4k then u on the right track .. but if u like speed then join the 250s brigad .. and last thing they crash like hell .. so beware of it ..

250 quads are used for fpv racing, right?.Iam just a begginer in aeromodelling.I want build a quad which is used for lifiting purpose and besides  I learned to fly quad by using a simulation APP!!,in my tab.I've never used transmitter to fly anything and my skills are average. And I think  flying a 250 quad for me,  is far more difficult  than ordinary quad.So what should I have to choose,250 or 450mm.Besides Iam on a budget. Please let me know......

If you are going for lifting purposes then go for 450 or 500 class

Hello guys,
I want to buy a new 450mm quad frame.
When I was searching  for it,I found three results-two from amazon and one from Rc Mumbai. All three of them look alike,I couldn't  atleast one difference between  them. And all of them vary in price. Here are the links-http://www.amazon.in/Neewer-99035841-053-4-Axis-Airframe/dp/B00ATLP6WM/ref=sr_1_2?s=toys&ie=UTF8&qid=1444810382&sr=1-2&keywords=Quadcopter+frame#productDetails.     http://www.amazon.in/EverBoss-4-Axis-Airframe-FlameWheel-Quadcopter/dp/B00YBBWIMM/ref=sr_1_8?s=toys&ie=UTF8&qid=1444810382&sr=1-8&keywords=Quadcopter+frame#productDetails.
 From Rc Mumbai - http://rcmumbai.com/products/450mm-quad-frame/
Please help  me..........
