Hello everyone. Here is an attempt to build a H-QUAD, obviously inspired by the guys from 'flitetest'. The dimensions have been shamelessly nicked from the flitetest website. Grin
I have used 12mmx12mm aluminum extrusion and 3mm polypropylene sheet instead of Poplar wood and Balsa as suggested by Josh-n-Josh.   Wink

My setup:
Motors - MT2213 from RCD
ESC - Turnigy 25A basic
FC - KK2 board from Adiboy
Battery - Turnigy 2200mAh 20c 3s X 2 again from Adiboy  Hats Off

Here are the pics and the "PLAN"  Grin
Hope this qualifies for the sweep  Roll Eyes

P.S - Its fun and easy building a quad anyway, so do give it a try Thumbs Up

EDIT - Flitetest video

The manual drill was a gift to me from my late grandpa. Got to use is here as my drill gun was with a friend  Smiley

The motors have been fixed using nylon spacers thereby eliminating the need for a hole to accommodate the cir-clip of the motor  Roll Eyes

Here are the last two pics of the H-Quad. Used the packing foam that was lying around to assist in landings(read hard landings  Giggle).
I have tried to make this build log as comprehensive and simple as possible so that somebody, somewhere can be encouraged to build one.
It was possible to build it in just 1 day as i had a 'diligent' friend who was as desperate as i was to get this done today.
Shall test fly it soon and upload the flight video as it was already evening by the time we were done tweaking it.
More fine-tuning and additions to be done and will get back with the update soon.

Ideas/suggestions are most welcome
Cheers!

Nice build Smiley But the way the motors are mounted, they would not take to hard landings well. As they are anchored to the frame at only two points with a very small footprint, twisting may also become an issue.. You can attach a small piece of ply to the ends of the arms with epoxy and then attach the motors.

Fly High

Veloci i will recommend you to give some foam under each motor to balance well while landing(I mean hard landing  Giggle Giggle)
Which will definitely give some support while landing.. All the best for maiden.. again  Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Veloci I agree with lastRites the way motors mounted might generate vibrations, you can put hole in the aluminium pipe instead.
