Post by: rohan123 on August 31, 2014, 01:36:30 AM
i am making a quad with arduino uno , my budget at first 5k but it has been pushed by the sellers to 8.5k, i want to know have i overpaid for these materials:
1. 4 x DYS brushless motors 1400kv + 4 x DYS 30A ESC + 4 Props =6000rs.
2.arduino UNO (duplicate,but works good) =700rs.
3.Thunderbolt 2200mah 25C 3S 11.1V lipo=1200
4.imaxRC B3 3cell charger=600rs.
And i need to buy a flysky fs-ct6b transmitter and reciever,so reply soon

@rohan it seems reasonable as a good quality 28 class ntm motor cost about 800-900rs on hk and 30a esc on RCM is about 900 so i seems to be reasonable...
about the battery i haven't heard the name so can't say anything but turnigy 2200 20c cost about 950-1050rs..

Good luck

Regards
yash :hatsoff:

you wil need a three axis gyro sensor and get a accelerometer sensor too. I think some chips
have a combo of both

Consider using Arduino Mega2560 as this is the controller in many of the popular FC's and besides at some point you may find Uno not enough for project in hand.

Some popular open source FC platforms,

MultiWii (Mega328 & Mega32U4)

AeroQuad (Mega328)

MegaPirate (Mega2560)

ArduCopter (Mega2560)

Tau Labs (STM32)

Also, check out the MPU-9250, 9-axis beast of an IMU-- Acc+gyro+compass.

I suggest MPU9150 + Multiwii . It works !!

im at this moment using the HK multi-rotor board v3 coz it is easy to setup and no programming required,i am programming the arduino uno with mpu6050 gyro+acc but it is not quite working well ,i crashed my friends quad while trying to switch the quad in hover mode ,it accelerated first then the motors stopped working ,the frame got bent but the electronics were fine,so trying to learn how to program...if anybody has a code for any arduino platform and a commonly available sensor(like mpu6050) ,please pm or mail it to me on rohan.sakhuja123@gmail.com so i can study it coz i believe by studying someone's code i can learn faster, not in detail but at this time faster is better
And thank you everybody for the replies ,you people have helped me alot.
regards
rohan

Rohan, Flysky ct6b is the cheapest radio, Even it was my first choice for my first build - But many senior members here advised me to get a FS-T6, As it's easier to use for beginners, They say it's not only the on board programming options. So spend a 1000more bucks and get a FS-T6.
Thanks to Arun.sreelakam for helping me with a cheap used radio (FS-T6).

you can also consider getting a used one, :)

I am also On your path, Setting up a DIY Flight control board, with 328P+ MPU6050 (may upgrade to 2560 + MPU 9150 later) , But now have got HK control board (again thanks to arun.sreelakam !!) Through the same path !!!!!! .
As of now I plan to use multiwii , Have plans to write a code too ....

Where did you sourced the motors and ESC s ?

@sooraj there is a shop in chandni chowk which sold me the motor + esc for 1300 ,and i got all my items from there even the flysky, and about the controller i know i will outgrow it soon ,so will use it for some basic projects after that will sell it or donate it to my school's robotics club.

and sooraj i got the flysky for 2400rs. so the difference between the price of t6(including shipping) and ct6b was 1700rs.

2400 is not a bad price for new ct6b.
And motor+ESC at 1300 is also good.

What abt ur frame?

You are not overcharged for any of these things, Although buying directly from china through Ebay may have reduced total up to 1000Rs, You have to wait a month to get everything delivered.......Happy flying.  :)
