Hi,

I am helping a student with a quad setup. Inspite the fact i have not flown one.

all the parts have been given by fellow members or sold at best possible rates so cannot ask him to change parts. please

He needs help with some queries :-

Ideal frame needed for 2208 13 1500KV for a beginner as i found that higher KV motors are for advanced fliers
Can these motors be installed in 450 clone frame for a beginner.
What size esc would be ideal, currently he has got 3 30A ESC without any heat shrink and assuming he will be getting one more.
Can he mix and match ESC's

Thanks
Amit

These motors seem a bit small and high kv for a 450 size build.  I have mostly seen them used on very powerful 250 size builds on 5-6 inch props and 6S. However, they should be OK for a 330 size frame like this. 1500kv is ideal for 8-9 inch props on 3S. 30A should be more than enough though I can only say for sure if you post a link to the motors. Also, it is not ideal to mix different types of ESCs. If they are close in terms of specifications and firmware the flight controller may be able to compensate but it is better to use 4 of the same ESCs.

Thanks SK, I have checked the link for motors and from what i can gather it is Sunnysky  X2208 1500 KV http://www.rcsunnysky.com/html/2014/xseries_0916/12.html.

Also could you kindly advise what battery size will be okay for beginner as he cannot spend much.

Regards,
Amit

If its a 450 size the current draw is around 200W. And you obviously go with 3S battery which means current of ~20A steady current and peak current of 60A-100A .Now choose accordingly better go with 2200mah with 30-35C minimum.
