Title: help please...
Post by: D3Vd3rshan on July 27, 2017, 07:31:23 AM
hello guys,   :help:
i'm devadershan from kochi,kerala. me and my friends thought of building a quadcopter for yuva mastermind an exhibition type program hosted by malayala manorama. And yes we build it at first with dvd motor and aluminium tube it was just crap. and then we upgraded everything. our setup is

* multiwii 328p fc

* multistar 15 amp esc

* turnigy d2822/14 1450 kv brushless motor

* own custom pdb

*and at first 10*4 slowfly prop and 2cell 2200 mah lipo
the frame is a clone of dji f450

at our first try it didnt flew and just kept flipping without one side getting of the ground...
then we had to go and study for our 10th exams and then we placed it aside for the coming years .yes i cleaned them in times.
earlier this year i started to rebuild this quad after almost 3-4 years...
the setup was the same though after doing some calculation in ecalc i changed the prop to a

* 8*4.5 slowfly  and 3 cell 2700 mah 25c lipo

the code used was from the multiwii website itself. when i try to fly it again it drifted to the side but i managed to lift all 4 legs from ground. i was trying it inside a small room so since it was drifting i was not confident to hover it higher or even hover it for few seconds. i did this few times and at one try after landing it and tried again one motor started making noise and it was super hot after it cooled i looked inside and it was black.i think the motor was fried.
what i really want is that please someone help me in this situation is my setup wrong that is 450 size and 1450kv motors and the esc
  can i fly it with this setup or should i need to change anything to fly it again
its been a four year wait to fly it and now it gone back to the storage will i ever be able to fly it ? :'(  :(  ???

Your setup is okay , Not optimum, But it sure will fly.
As you doubt one motor is burned , first you have to look in to that issue.

thanks for the reply
do i need to change my frame to a 350 for better control as i was only able to take off this (for the times) almost above half throttle.
and i think i will buy a new motor from banggood...
and i have another question that is my lipo is showing cell 1.. 4.5v cell 2. 4.6v cell 3 4.8v is it normal or not

normally Lipo should not go above 4.2 v per cell

how are you checking the voltage....using a multi meter or low voltage alarm checker.?

try to discharge the battery and then balance charge it.

i am checking the lipo with a low voltage alarm
so how much should i discharge
and should i store lipo at low voltage?

Lipo should remain between 3.2 to 4.2 volts. Preferably above 3.5/3.6v and below 4.15v.

I highly doubt that your cells are above 4.2/4.35v.  Buy a decent multimeter and cheek again.

You should aim to store at 3.85v/cell for optimal life.

It is also important to keep all cells in a battery within a few mV of each other.

my lipo is not faulty my memory is i said my cell voltage is 4.6 from my memory i checked it again in reality it was really 4.06 4.05 and 4.08 is this variation normall

This is normal. Each cell will have a slightly different self discharge rate.

Yes! No concern there.
