Title: Hobbyking i86 Multi-Rotor Control Board Post by: Dharmik on May 29, 2012, 08:48:03 PM New gyro only board up
Controlled by an Atmel Mega168PA 8-Bit RISC based micro controller and utilizing a single 3-axis MEMS gyro the Hobbyking i86 Multi-Rotor Control Board is capable of 8 Multi-rotor craft types and 2 flight modes without the need to flash the micro controller. The simple dip switch systems allows for quick and easy selection of your desired Multi- rotor configuration and flight mode. Light weight and compact the i86 can fit in the smallest of craft and will require a small piece of double sided tape to install. The Hobbyking i86 Multi-Rotor Control Board supports: Aero (fixed wing) Dual copter Tri copter Quad copter X Quad copter + Hex copter H6 copter Y6 copter All of the above modes can be set in "Normal" mode or "Sports" mode (default normal) Specs: Input Voltage: 4v to 6v Input signal: 50hz standard PPM PWM Frequency: 400hz for ESC, 50hz for servos Gyro scale: +/- 500dps, ODR: 800hz Operating temp: -40° C to 85° C Size: 40mm x 40mm Weight: 8g Store link http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__12974__Hobbyking_i86_Multi_Rotor_Control_Board_.html RCG link http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1661094 Title: Re: Hobbyking i86 Multi-Rotor Control Board Post by: satyagupta on May 29, 2012, 09:27:55 PM I view today morning but was not able to understand the difference between this and HK board.. this has MEMS gyro and HK board has 3 x single axis gyro... It would had been great if it had added accelro on it..
Title: Re: Hobbyking i86 Multi-Rotor Control Board Post by: Dharmik on May 29, 2012, 09:38:12 PM All i can say is it's much better than recent hk boards. Few reasons are
1. Less weight 2. Two flying modes together 3. Less space required 4. Digital single 3 axis gyro so no more vertical yaw module. Title: Re: Hobbyking i86 Multi-Rotor Control Board Post by: anwar on May 30, 2012, 12:23:39 AM It would have been near perfect as a heli training platform if it had the accelerometers too ! Guess it is only a matter of time !
Still much better than the old one. The dual copter support out of the box is cool ! Title: Re: Hobbyking i86 Multi-Rotor Control Board Post by: hyd_quads on May 30, 2012, 12:12:16 PM Maybe it's better than the other HK board because of the MEM sensors. I guess MEMS gyros are more resistant to outer physical conditions like heat and provide more accuracy than the piezo sensors of the HK board. ???

Here is topic Mems gyros vs. Piezo gyro http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1660864 Here limited time special offer KK with gyro+acc http://www.multircshop.com/site/index.php?route=product/product&path=35&product_id=640 Title: A BUG in HK i86 control board! Post by: hyd_quads on June 11, 2012, 07:38:15 PM I've read that there was a bug in the firmware of the hobbyking's i86 Multirotor control board.
When the board is disarmed, instead of cutting the throttle pulse, the FC is giving INSTANT FULL THROTTLE to ESCs, for a short duration. This can be dangerous. However, this is specific ONLY to those ESCs flashed with SimonK's firmware. courtesy: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1669859 (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1669859) |
