Looking for building a quad having a weight of 1.5 kgs. The quad will be carrying a payload of 0.7 kg. So, total weight will be 2.2 kgs. The frame will be TBS Discovery 500. What motors, props and batteries should I go for?

@pragyandipta,
Welcome to this forum. I’m sure you’ll get enough responses to your queries.

BTW, when you post thesame query on two different boards, you get some responses on one, and some on the other. Then you have two threads to track. Better to keep everything in one place.

This board (multirotors) is the right place.
So I’ve deleted your identical post on RC General Topics board. Wink

Regards

I did. So, they do have the frame. But they told me to do research on motors and let them know which one I need. So I calculated the thrust and it's coming to be about 1100g per motor. I checked sunny sky and found that X2820-III (KV 1250) with APC1050 props would be the best for me. Can someone please let me know if I am going for the right motor and props? Also, please suggest the ESC and battery I should go for. I need a flight time of about 5 mins. Thanks.

IF I'm not wrong....a quad should comfortably hover at 45--55% throttle ….

if m build one …..tiger motor mn 3110 700 kv would be my choice...12/3 or 12/4 props.....30 amp ESC.....3000 mah 4 cell battery should give you a decent flight time of 12-15 minutes....depends on your flying style.

I don't think those motors can provide sufficient thrust. Also the frame is 500mm so there is a limit on prop size. I can go for an 11inch prop but 10inch would be the best. 12 inch props might be a little big for this frame

Also, my flying style will be constant. No acrobatics or anything to be done. Just plain simple up-down, front-back, left-right and hovering required.

Thanks for replying. Would appreciate any more information you can give

hello there,

you should use 1000 KV turnigy Brushless motors .
20 Amp 4 in one Electronics speed controller.
Flight controller Apm.2.8 or else Kk board .
3000 To 5000 Mah any 4s to 5s
it can carry easily 1Kg load with no issues .
