^OK, the above discussion is getting a bit weird Tongue

Whatever changes satya sir made are his own, and makes no difference whatsoever. If you want to make / sell your own, find the design files yourself, modify them as you please and do whatever !

I noticed that the angle of the arms have been changed from the original design. Does this improve flight characteristics? or is this just to give a prop free view?

2 reasons,

1. Props was almost going over the screws of the arms.
2. Give a prop free view (as you said)

But the angle is not changed a lot just substantial so that props do not break in air.

Good thinking. Will the fasteners be available separately for this model? Also how about 2 blade props?

Fasteners you mean hardware (just for frame)?

2 Blade props is not very good idea as it would generate less thrust than 3 blade props. But we can get 2 blade props too.

I was thinking about getting a premium kit which would come with Tiger 1806 2300kv motors (generates around 380 grams of thrust per motor) but its damn damn costly.

Yes I need proper hardware for my frame. The screws and bolts I used are not up to the mark. You are correct about the thrust issue with 2 blade props, but I imagine they would also be better balanced than the 3 blade ones. As for the T-motors, we could purchase your RTF kit at the same cost.

You can buy m3x20 screws and nuts from the store. They work with this frame.

And you are right about the 2 blade props, but i guess with little efforts you can balance a 3 blade prop as well. (a little extra efforts)

How long are the flight times with different batteries?
I want to get rid of my bigger 400size quad as its hards to travel with. Will it lift a 2200 3s with a mobius cam and fpv system? I will buy it even if it flies at a decent pace with that much onboard. I don't need a rocket ship.

I dont think so the total thrust generated by 4 motors are almost around 800 grams. (at 100% throttle)

Yep, 2200mAh would be to heavy for it, even it can it will leave ground at above 90% throttle so we will have no room for control. well if you have hd wing cam there is a nice mod availalble to use it recording as well as fpv cam. please chec here

Im using these motors with a 2200mah 3S with FPV (470gms approx AUW)and its manageable if you can fly slow. A quick decent from height will certainly mean a quick crash or you will have lot of "bach gaya!" moments. Also there is no considerable increase in flight time when compared to 1000mah lipo.

According to me best option would be 1500/1600 mah, which would not load the motors as much as a 2200 will do.

Approx Flight times

1000mah: 7-8 mins
2200mah: 12-13mins

Kit comes with 1250mah 25C lipo with that you would get around 8-9 mins of flight time.

About the throttle Dharmik bro would be able to give you more info about it.

With a 1300mAh 3cell, mine hovers at approx 60-65% throttle.

But sir. I have seen people flying with the same motor in UK, and they don't fly with so much throttle.
And my flight time will reduce if I hook my fpv gear to the main battery.

Which motors is used? if you use tiger motors it generates 300 grams of thrust. the motor that comes with this kit generates 250 grams thrust max.

For this kit its better use some action camera which records the video.

Throttle position is not a way to measure capacity or efficiency because radios have different settings which effect throttle position such as curves, expos, stick end points etc. Instead AUW and motor thrust needs to be taken into account.

Similarly flight times too can change for different people with the same setup because of their flying skills. I can get 5 to 8 mins on the same battery just because of different flying styles.

You wont be able to mount a board cam as it is, because cant see slots or anything on the frame so you will have to probably do some mods to mount them on. Shouldnt be a big deal.

As for durability, if you take a real bad crash say drop from 10', even CF frame would fail depending on lot of factors, and most crashes are pilot errors. However the frame would be sturdy in flight, since I think 1.5mm fiber plates have been used for the body while 2.5/3mm for the arms which are good enough for that size.

Im using same motors to haul 450gms of weight including FPV with a 3s1000mah lipo for 7-8mins in normal flights. Everything depends on AUW.

@Sidewinder: can you post some pics and videos so that i am sure about what i am going to buy.
what fpv gear are you using sir? i use a 5.8 200mw from hobbyking with a boardcamera.
i have seen these rcx motors delivering 300grams of thrust on full throttle and 160grams on half stick.

so you are saying that with the stock quad and battery (1250mah) + my fpv gear(70grams) will give me decent flight times and a nice agile quad ?

I should have mentioned specifically in hindsight. Anyways,I dont own the frame myself, using a self designed frame with board cam mount.

Yet Dharmik has documented the build which you can find here
http://rcsci.blogspot.in/2014/06/new-qk-hunter-260-arf-kit-build-log.html

I do own the motors/esc so I can say that the motors can fly a quad of 400-500gm AUW on 3s with a lil bit of effort including FPV setup.Frame weighs 120-130gms approx. You can checkout my quad @ http://www.rcindia.org/multirotors/mini-foldable-h-quad-build/

If motors can deliver 300gm thrust at full throttle then ideally thrust at half throttle should be 150gm! That is reason i told you not to take throttle position while comparing capability of a motor. I designed my quad by considering 250gms max thrust for those motors.

I would consider 7-8mins as decent flight times at such small size. And the 1250mah should be able to give you that with a smooth flying style i.e less sudden speed runs/climb and braking.Agility would again depend on AUW, PID, Environmental conditions and your flying skills etc.

However yes you should be able to get decent flight times with stock lipo+fpv with decent amount of agility.Keep in mind that at such small sizes even 10gms matter.

Real fun of flying FPV. Now i can fly FPV in small alley without any problem. No recording cam attached yet. Sony CCD cam gives good visibility in night. I have practiced so much and it seems i have gained enough confidence for outdoor adventures. Really good platform for newbies and FPV lovers. Planning to put 1500mAh battery on it to see if i can get more fun out of this small wonder.

1500mAh will not give much improvement in flight times. weight is an enemy of these small quads.

Nice to see twin brother together. Hmm.. seems will have to stick with 1250mAh then. Btw putting all stuff on this small machine is big challenge but happy with its performance. Hard to control in srtrong wind though. Hope you are doing good with your bird.

I tried the KK2.1 and the multiwii, but with my non existent skill, I finally plonked on a Naza lite. The mini now flies amazing. Even in 20km/hr winds it is rock steady. In fact my daughter is now learning to fly.

Added some cool white LEDs on the front side. During night FPV it might add extra visibility as well. I will test it soon.

so i got two blade props few days back. i have modded this kit a bit. since fpv cam was unable to fit between two main sheets due to height difference i had to put some metal washers to increase height. now it fits perfectly and rock solid without fasterners. i will further use this quad for fpv practice till i build and complete my bigger quad. check build log of that quad here.

http://www.rcindia.org/multirotors/custom-designed-xtremex-v2-fpv-quadcopter-frame/

http://rcsci.blogspot.in/2015/01/custom-designed-xtremex-v2-fpv.html

250 size fpv quads becoming very popular these days due to their small size and agility. you can easily carry them to the feild in a bag.

thats good Dharmik bro, how good are these motors? to they have the punch in them? Now a days many buy either emax or dys 1806.

I personally love DYS 1806 Wink

Hi Satya bro,
i just checked your store and found that this ARF kit is no longer listed there(maybe i missed). This is really nice kit for newbies having dreams to fly like juz and charpu. if you can bring qav250 or similar kit on store then it would be nice. i just noticed that motors are not capable to lift sj1000 & gopro kind of cams. they struggle to lift the load with complete fpv gear. however mobius or wingcam would be fine.

Yea Dharmik, it was not much of a sale Sad so had to pull it off. I guess very less customers prefer something custom. On the other hand very much similar kit h220 is selling like hot cake. Just different frame and motors.

Yes then 1804 are little less power but they have good efficiency. I would suggest you to use emax 1806 or dys 1806 (dys my fav) they have lot of power very agile.
