Title: Prop selection help !
Post by: Dipanjan on September 26, 2016, 01:42:58 PM
Hello RCI members,
I am building a micro quad. I have already bought Avionic 1818 3500KV motor from RCB. Also had bought some BullNose 3030 Propellers from Robu.in . The motors come with integrated prop savers. However after fixing the prop on the saver, as I increase throttle, initially there is a lot of vibration, and at some point the props came off the rubber band. I don't know which prop will be a good fit for the motor.  Can someone please help me in this?
Regards,
Dipanjan

OK, in the website, they have a chart using GWS 3 X 3. How can a GWS 3X3 fit on the motor?

This motor

Is similar to the one I have bought. Does anyone have any experience with these? What prop do you use? I right now have Kingkong 5030, and 3030 and 4045 BullNose props. Can't seem to get it working :(

Have started to think I have bought a crap set of motors. :( Thought they would match the props listed at the website :(

Please help !

I have the same set of motors.I use one on my solar plane.
You won't be able to mount 3 blade props but 2 blade props shant be a problem.
Can you post a pic.
I'll be able to tell better.

And yes, I have run that motor on a 8x6 APC prop and it's well capable of that

Thanks a lot Prabal. I appreciate your concern :salute:
Well, I think I should rephrase my statement like:
I have bought a good set of motors with a crap set of Prop savers.
The rubber bands that came with the motors, couldn't keep the props in place, so I replaced them with ordinary rubber bands, and now the quad flies well.
On a side note, I am using a Naze 32 FC, initially flashed it with Baseflight, was having strange stability issues. Now have reflashed it using Cleanflight, and it works very well. Probably I did some wrong setup in baseflight, that'w why it didn't work for me, but still, Cleanflight rocks :D
Will post some pics and video later if possible  Thanks again.
Regards,
Dipanjan
