Title: Quad landing stands V2.0 Post by: parichya.gautam on December 05, 2014, 02:59:28 AM SO I thought that when someone said that on a hard landing, the skits I had earlier, will bend due to the impact, I re-designed it, and it is impact resistant now.
Did drop it from some height to see the impacts, all is fine :) Some minor weight was added, but it is worth it. Title: Re: Quad landing stands V2.0 Post by: madaquif on December 05, 2014, 03:02:25 AM hey parichay....
my 2 cents..... motor mounts may break....in case of rough landing.... consider mounting the landing gear on the boom itself. Title: Re: Quad landing stands V2.0 Post by: parichya.gautam on December 05, 2014, 03:05:13 AM had initially planned that, didn't have any more holes(changes for another time), so went for the other option. I know they seem that they will break, but i've tried it a bit bow and they're pretty stable ..

Title: Re: Quad landing stands V2.0 Post by: sooraj.palakkad on December 05, 2014, 08:35:22 AM @parichya, you have opened 2 different threads in explanation of your landing skid design, You could have better gone with posting improvements in your landing skid design to a single thread, so that readers could know the faults and benefits of each idea, and also fellow forum members can advice improvements or take advantage from your experiments easily.
It's a bad idea to open different threads for a single topic. It won't help either you nor us ! request admins to merge your Landing skid threads. these threads have to be merged : http://www.rcindia.org/multirotors/quad-landing-stands/?topicseen (http://www.rcindia.org/multirotors/quad-landing-stands/?topicseen) http://www.rcindia.org/multirotors/quad-landing-stands-v2-0/?topicseen (http://www.rcindia.org/multirotors/quad-landing-stands-v2-0/?topicseen) Title: Re: Quad landing stands V2.0 Post by: parichya.gautam on December 05, 2014, 09:02:06 AM @Madaquif- about 200gms

I saw these. How do they work ? I was told that I need a servo for them . Will they be able to take the weight of the quad ? Any video showing that how they work, or in action ?> Title: Re: Quad landing stands V2.0 Post by: parichya.gautam on January 01, 2015, 09:38:46 PM anyone ?
Title: Re: Quad landing stands V2.0 Post by: v2 eagle on January 01, 2015, 10:09:18 PM Instead, why dont you practice on making a soft landing, they arent that difficult to master.
I believe the product from rcsportz is for a plane. you can anyways hack it to add it to a quad, but a simple smiley ball will solve most of the hard landing problems.
