Title: RTF Kits! beware!
Post by: rajsachdev on August 31, 2014, 06:15:15 PM
As a new comer to this hobby many of us prefer to go for RTF kits available at LHS because of our limited knowledge, but beware! i bought a RTF quadcopter kit from a LHS, it assembled well and flew well but when one of my motors developed a problem they had no spares!! though they are still selling this kit yet they have no spares to sell! Had to buy new 4 motors to be able to keep up with my hobby! So please always ensure that they have enough spares, better still buy one extra of things like motor and esc's , specially if you are a newbie, helps eliminate doubts in case of a problem.

Pune!

'nuff said!

What do you MEAN by 'nuff said? Atleast provide a name of the place you are telling us to be beware of! This topic is pointless

Why can't you guys get it , there's only one rc shop left in Pune that sells rtf quad combo , rcbazaar and their quad motor is out of stock ( pls inform me if there's any other left , I have checked the gems and most of them are closed)

Devang- Unlike you many people on this forum are not so experienced and well informed about the RC shops in India.

I also don't know much about any other city than Lucknow or Pune as I live in Lucknow and my dad lives in Pune , whom I visit every month and we go to rcbazaar Pune together , that's why I knew it .

See.. RcBazaar is not a small LHS. It is a growing chain of stores and they WILL get stock of the product which is not currently in stock. Now it is upto you to wait for the stock or blame the store for not keeping spares.

Guys! didn't want to start a debate, just warn newbies like me to beware and buy stuff after making sure enough spare are available, because as newbies we do crash and damage things.

Din't mention the name because it's not a small store, it's one of the biggest and i've been there, it has catered to RC enthusiasts all over, don't know the reason for the non availablity, may be they will get these in future or may be not get these motors any more because they seem to have moved to other motors, but newbies like me suffer, if this had happened beforei had been able to fly i would have given up the hobby, but thankfully it happenned after i had several successful flights and was hooked to this hobby, but others may not be so lucky, the fault is mine for not doing my homework so wanted to warn others because only a newcomer will go for RTF kit while others will collect parts from all over to build thier own specifications. But the store in question or any LHS also has a responsiblity to either keep spare stocked or not sell kits to which they cannot provide spares to.

So they are now! When I posted they weren't! I had clicked "notify me when available" when I was planning to buy a spare suspecting a problem and also left a message on their chat later when I had confirmed the problem but there was no response to later, usually they respond fast so went ahead and bought a new set of sunny sky, anyway will buy and may be make one more quad :).

Thanks RCBazaar for listening...

Problems like these with the stores should be discussed on phone/email first and only if you don't get a reply after thorough efforts, you should post about it Here.

Problem: Unavailability of stock

Solution: Wait for stock/Look for other options/Talk to store employee.

P.S : You should understand that this motor is a 'HOT' product and is usually out of stock.

Hmmm, i seemed to have offended someone who loves that store very much (or is a part of it), sorry about that, i never intended to bring up that store's name, i was just trying to make other newbies aware that they should beware and buy kits where spare are available.

"Always out of stock" it never was in stock since may!

I bought this kit in may this year and realised in few days that i should have a spare but it was unavailable then, I put it on back order in july and till august 20th it wasn't yet available, i even kept a message in thier offline chat window that one of my motors was spoiled and needed 1 motor to be able to fly it again, but never got a response, even before this kept a close eye on this motors availability, i saw a new line of motors being introduced but this was still unavailable, So how long should i have waited Prateek?
