No, 4mm coro flutes lengthwise. Once you fold it into a tube, its rock solid. No flex.

The protruding nose could be a future cam/fpv platform and the fuse could take any shape Wink . Original plan was to make it purely SPAD with coro booms, but wanted to finish her in one night and cheated with the wood parts. Infact, the plan was to have the booms go through the fuse at half height. That way the looks would have been different Smiley

Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect

Sam
Neither! i watched your video carefully and had predicted this behaviour of your quad to sandy couple of days ago. The reasons are
(a) Yours is a rectangular frame, unlike a square frame a rectangular frame has a few funny cross coupling issues

(b) Roll yaw input will translate to pitch behaviour as well (Pitch up and down)

(d) Pitch authority will be more than the roll authority because of differential moment arms.

(c) All motors will not have the same authority for various movements (roll pitch and yaw) because of variable moment arms

(d) Boards do not cater for such an arrangement, though by keeping it docile you can fly around, but it will have cross coupling issues always.

Rectangular frame? a lot of them have made, as i see on the net , but i don’t see anyone really able to see the issue.

For your consideration Sam ! Grin

Gusty bhai, thanks a lot for finding time to review my video  Hats Off which was informational.

Now, about the frame. It appears to be rectangle (one side longer), but the distance between motor to motor are the same on all sides (18") which makes it square. I made sure that since I was not sure about the longer fused quads especially me being first time on quads/helis. But I dont know whether the shape (square coro and the sticks) of my frame is anyway related to this  Shocked And I am not challenging your valuable input, Just wanted to know more   Grin

I checked the battery after the crash and it was 11.0v. I guess it was mostly a pilot error. There is reason to believe so since as usual I was there without sleeping (Eid celebrations)  Giggle . Had couple of flights without any incidents, then flew the twist and before leaving wanted to fly the quad again. Tired and sleep deprived, I guess I lost orientation  Bang Head .

If you had flown in a X configuration with C/C of Motors and diagonals exactly equal then it should not affect you, but a Plus configuration in this frame is unpredictable due to cross coupling.

Thanks Sandy, my first quad was X config. I stripped it down to build this Hconfig when I saw the clip by flitetest. Built it exactly the same but with the H fuse. So I guess coupling doesn't affect this one.

from the quad board to motor (roughly) if it is same then yeah ! you are right shouldn't have an issue except that force translation from the motor to the frame is through an 'L' frame for cross controls and straight for roll and pitch. if you see Flitetest video carefully the same thing has happened before landing, it could be finger trouble who knows ? all in all it is not completely attributed to pilot error and partying, Grin

That's exactly the one I am fabricating for myself, a clover leaf and also a Skew Planar Wheel antenna. However the Range is less than a Inverted V and a Bi-quad antenna combination. However a CP antenna is supposed to be totally Glitch free within that range which is Quite good for an FPV flyer.

Gusty bhai, the board is roughly at the middle of the frame. And all the components are distributed evenly and hence the battery placed in the middle for CoG. The "L" effect is something I never thought about and was very informational. Thanks a lot for your kind directional corrections Cheesy Will use this "H" for learning purpose and will move on to "X" once I feel comfy flying these bugs.

Had some fun with the correHcopter today morning. Enjoyed every bit of it! Though it is in very bad condition after numerous crashes, still flies good.

Thanks VC Smiley If my piece of scrap plastic can fly at least this good, with the meticulous building style of yours it should fly on its own Wink
