Hello everyone!

The following tutorial will let you know how you can replace the motors for the Syma X11/Syma X11C. Replacing the motor needs some basic knowledge, basic tools, and a little bit of common sense! Please read the whole tutorial before doing anything, as you will get a glimpse of what you are going to do.

The tutorial includes five parts:

• Tools you need
• Locating the dead motor
• Ordering Procedure
• Disassembly of the Quad
• Installing the motor

TOOL’s YOU NEED
There are some basic tools that you will need. First make sure you have enough time, as if this is your first time chances are that you may mess up. Don’t be upset about it I did mess up too! Ok now coming to the tools you will need a screw driver with a small diameter as the screws in the quad are tiny. Soldering Iron with a fin tip, you do not need a fancy Iron if this is something that you may not be doing often then a cheaper one will do! A long nose plyer is also helpful.



LOCATING THE DEAD MOTOR
Locating the malfunctioning motor is easy as you can just look at the propeller that’s not rotating in your Quad and make it out easily. For me one of my rear motor was dead! Now finding out if the motor is Motor A or B is simple as well, you just have to look at the colour (color) of the wire. If it is Motor A (CW) then It will have red and yellow wires and If it is Motor B (CCW) then It will have blue and white wires.


ORDERING PROCEDURE
Ordering your Motor is really easy as you have already figured out which one you need to buy. So head on over to sp4mm3r and place your order accordingly.

DISASSEMBLY OF THE QUAD
Now when it comes to disassembly be careful and don’t force anything out unless it is latched. So first undo the four screw that is holding the battery compartment, undo them completely and pull the compartment with a bit of force as it is latched towards the front side but don’t go too aggressive with it. Take it easy and slow, these are tiny and thin parts. Once the compartment is out remove the Dead motors cover as well. This should be easy as there are only two tiny screw holding it in place.





INSTALLING THE MOTOR
Now carefully locate the Dead motors wire that has been soldered on the board. Heat up your Soldering Iron and melt the solder joining the wire to the PCB be carefully as there are some chips on the board and you could damage them. Once you have De-soldered the wire find the corresponding wire on your replacement motor and solder it back in, repeat this process again for the second wire! Now remove the existing motor and place the new motor in its place properly also try to route the cables as neatly as you can!
