High spirits we have: gravity we flout.

So the T-copter frame I was building turned too small and decide to build a new one. This is the first multirotor I’m building from scratch so trying to keep things simple right now.

The frame is two strips of wood (called lippin patti localy) tied together with a long piece of rubber band. I used this calculator by Stunt Double to calculate CG and tail boom length.

For yaw I’m using RcExplorers mechanism, and of course everything is fixed using zip ties.

Motor: 2830 1000kv
ESC: FLY PRO 25A
Controller: HK v2.1
Firmware: KapteinKUKs v1.5

Flew it today, just had to reverse yaw gyro, not very stable with all pots at 50% but still flyable. Will keep playing with pot settings and post the result here. No video yet, will try to get some tomorrow.

Thank you guys Smiley it flies but not very well, which mostly is because of improper pot settings. Check out the video. Its very difficult to control.

Dharmik, any tips to achieve good pot settings Head Scratching

Wow it flies great. I think wind makes it unstable but it looks very well tuned. As i know for these(t-copter, tri, quad) firmwares pot settings are
roll pot - P gain of roll/pitch
pitch - I gain of roll/pitch
yaw - P gain of yaw while I fixed to 0.2
I have mine set to
P Gain 40-42%(above that it oscillates with non flashed escs)
I Gain 10% (they call it heading hold)
Yaw 80%

In my case 40-45% was soft spot for P gain. I kept my I gain between 1-15% and it gave me good hover capabilities. Above 20% you will get heading hold capability for acro flight. Interesting thing i found about yaw is if you reduce gain below 55-60% it shows ascend/descend with respect to rudder inputs, so i kept mine above 60-70%. I am using rubber grommets(got from old dvd player) and nylon rubber to mount board(no nut-bolts) it works fine.

Thank you for the tips Dharmik. From your inputs, it looks like i might have roll set a little high And yaw to low (40-45%). I'll play with the settings and post results here. Right now i just have the board tapped on the frame, its was just temporary. The rubber grommets idea sounds good, I'm sure i'll be able to fins something like that in my junk box Smiley

After breaking two servos, I've now replaced the tiny 12g metal gear servo with a futaba s3003. Flew it today and was getting much better yaw controll. Have finally managed to trim the pots for a nice and stable level flight. Had tones of fun flying the t-copter today, had a few crashes also, the final broke the left wooden arm but I came back home very satisfied Smiley
Will build a new one with foldable arms now Thumbs Up

Some shots of the completed t-copter.
I used a rings of pvc pipe for temporary landing gear as i didn't had foam. But they turned out to be the best landing gear I've build, little bouncy tho. This is how i'm gona build landing gear for all my future multicopters.

doesn't respond and light blinks. please help
= Rx is not bound to the Tx.
Follow these steps:
power off receiver
power off transmiter
insert bind plug onto BAT pins
power on receiver
light will blink
put transmitter throttle to zero position
hold bind and switch on transmitter
hold until binding is made
usually just a couple of seconds

Make sure you connected an ESC and a motor to your ESC to hear the arming beeps.
