Did you disconnect the power supply and reconnect it and then try? Try updating firmware using an arduino! I see you are using a 10 pin cable with your USBASP so you could try again with a 10-6 pin adapter or you could check the kk 2.1 and USBASP pinouts to see that it has been plugged the right way.
