I've got this turnigy LCD backlight kit, I had bought it for my FS-TH9X, I know that both models are same.
So i bought it from Hobbysea.com
and all they gave was a backlight, it looks completely different from what picture and internet shows. It just has one red and black wire. I can't figure out how to install this on my FS-TH9X.
Help me

Re:

If that can handle 5v then you can simply  power from any potentiometer connections.

can't figure out,
I was thinking of putting it directly to the power supply of the FS-9X.
How the original LCD backlight works ? what's the use of the male/female wire harness ?

@ theObnoxious, don't connect that directly to battery/power supply that should burn its led.

try to power it using two AA batteries, if that lighting well then use a 150 Ohms resister and connect to any POT's two connections(pots have 3 pins, dont connect this to middle connection. connect to other two connections)

if that lighting dim(or no light) with two AA batteries then connect directly to POT's connection as mentioned above.

Reverse Polarity will not fry led you can try it out.

I get it, the LED's work fine with a 9V battery.
The problem is that, I want to turn it ON when the TX gets turned ON, that way, if the batteries are put, the LED will light up, whether the TX is ON or OFF.

@theObnoxious: How have you connected the backlight? Through the connector provide in the Back Light kit or have you wired the power lines to the supply?

Did you connect it in this manner?
Back Light connector --------> 3rd connector from the right on the Flysky Board
The existing jst connector(which you removed from the 3rd connector from the right) --------> the male socket of the lcd

as I mentined above, the backlight which hobbysea has provided me, has just i/p terminals.
There is no female to male connector harness.
So its just a normal LED backlight.

I haven't put it in the TX, I just tested it witha 9V battery, works fine.
Its too thick to accomodate in my TX space, i'll have to trim the foam present, as the hobbysea has not provided any foam.
Plus the backlight is short of the actual length of the LCD.
I thought to ask you guys before making any move.

As akhil sir mentioned connect the wires to the Poteniometer pins (not the center one) that way your LCD backlight will switch on when the TX is switched on...if the wires don't reach the pot...you can solder the wires to the 78L05 voltage regulator!
Ignore the other wires!
Connect your LED's red(+ve) wire to the point circled in red
Connect your LED's black(-ve) wire to the point circled in black as in the picture
