What is the logic of carrying a dslr ?  And buying cheap motors using a quad config ?

i am myself very skeptical about this...its much better to just put a go pro on a racing quad ..coz its gonnna me much more maneuverable...but gopro image quality is crap... so i thought ill make a quad that can take a dslr or a mirrorless camera like the sonya6500 that i have for some very good video..
am i cheaping out on the motors? what motors do u recommend...( i understand that a hexa or octa config would be much better but i have design limitations since i am making the frame myself.
i was thinking of getting emax 2216 mt cooling series motors...they have 1kg of thrust.. enough for my cam and a lightweight 200g frame...
share ur  thoughts guys!

Hey check out this post,
http://www.rcindia.org/for-sale/garage-sale-31522/
Got stuff for a 450 to 500 size quad, motors can swing 10inch and 11 inch props , would be good for a gopro size quad

I'd suggest Sunnysky 'V' series, or any equivalent t-motor.

Carrying a DSLR on a quad with the motor that fits your budget makes the whole setup extremely underpowered.
And if you're planning to go ahead with the setup, you're not only putting the whole quad at risk, but also your DSLR.

I'd say, it ain't worth it. Either change your motors or go with an action cam.

My logic was a camera has to be 'lifted' by a propeller..so let's get a 11 inch prop capable motor...and just fly it up since the camera weighs a little over 500g .... But u r right...i suppose it won't be able to control itself ..like when it is descending and I need it to stop

I saw a lot of vids online and nobody has done something so silly.
I can buy a cheaper camera like the a6000 and get better motors
I am looking at the emax 3510 or 3516 motors.. they are available for around 3k on rch
Is that motor size ok? It seems to have a lot of thrust...
Its just about the thrust isn't it??  Or am I simplifying it too much..

Also I have one thing that's bothering me... These emax motors don't fail too often do they?  I've read tmotor has good reliability but they are too expensive
I mean I have a quad setup and if one motor smokes out . ..well..
Again. My camera will weight 500ish grams.. it's not a full DSLR..just a mirrorless cam.

Share Ur opinion guys... meanwhile I am digging the internet. ✌

Motor size will depend on the current draw and how much current your battery can supply. My 2218 emax motor swings a 10x7 at 30 amps approximately and my 3508 motor swings the same prop at 20-22 amps.

If weight is a concern, my 2218 weighs 80g compared to the120g of the 3508. There's various factors to consider and decide which suits you the best
