some other current path maybe if you checked it in circuit...arriving at exact 1k would be a rare incidence...

if you have more soldering job to do now, also do the speaker/haptic feedback mod...its fun Wink

I was wondering whether we can use stock tx and frsky tx at the flick of a switch with the telemetry mod.
I know its possible without the telemetry mod i.e use stock and frsky alternately, by fixing a two way switch at Vcc.
It has been done by guys at flitetest but involves 72mhz and 2.4ghz.

yes doable, people have done it, I'd say use a dpdt to toggle instead of a spdt, toggle both the +ve and ppm lines, the ground can be connected together, that ways you don't have both the radios on at a single time and no crosstalk on the ppm line. You have bring out the wires from the tx...

I am never going back to flysky, not that i hate it, but the resilience of the frsky system leaves me with no reason to go back...so putting a dpdt was added work that i was never going to use

Isn't a spdt toggle on +ve line enough, since that would make sure that only one module is powered at a time?
Otherwise I would have to go on a witch hunt for that toggle, availability of electronic items are scarce in my part of the world. Im just recycling the old module and Rx, good for LOS flying with small models.

I just want to be sure that I can use both the modules even after the Frsky telemetry mod.
Also does the frsky module heat up while in use?I can feel some after a minute or two of usage.

mine doesn't.... I've flown my Bix till it was nothing but a dot, but still had control... one thing I noticed is that while servos are responsive when so far, the throttle seems to react late... I cut the throttle and I hear it stop only after about half a sec... but the other control surfaces work instantly

Vishakh .i'll send u a dpdt toggle on monday alongwith the rx.. it is not absolutely essential but just in case there is any crosstalk...u might want to install the switch in the battery compartment so it cannot be flipped by accident...

Ur understanding on the circuit schematics is correct...only the pos line is toggled...

The module doesnt heat up...not at 2s for sure

@aniket...i ve never faced tha issue...it could be if ur esc is programmed for nobrakes and the sound was from a windmilling prop?

I am using FRSKY DJT module with telemetry rx, I have a FS TH9X, what would be the best way to upgrade to er9x and use telemetry.

Also can someone let me know if Trunigy 9xR come with  Open TX or some other Firmware?
Any help on this will be appreciated

Ahamed
- do the telemetry mod, or use a FLD 02 screen
- 9xR comes with er9x rebranded as Turnigy's own firmware, see the important notice here:
https://code.google.com/p/er9x/ Yes one can change the splash screen (and put your name on it) with little effort. needs a rebuild from source.

the smartie parts board is not available anymore, unless someone is willing to sell. Flashing with solders is easy enough.

you will need the right sensors, the sensor hub comes in handy
