Basically a lot of anti-JR/Spektrum views (seems like many opinionated views which put FHSS systems way above DSSS/DSM), but the interest aspect was the discussion about a new "dual receiver" 2.4Ghz system :

Dual Receiver... Arent the new 6-7ch Tx/Rx from HC also dual receiver??

Most full range receivers have antenna diversity (two or even more separate antennas receiving signals, some with "satellite" receivers). But these guys seems to have replicated not just the initial reception/antenna stage, they have completely independent circuits for some of the later stages also, with dual power inputs too.

Futaba has made it clear from time and again that they are proud that they only have ONE version of 2.4Ghz, which is FASST and is FHSS (primarily.. it is sort of a mix).  Spektrum went from DSM1 to DSM2 to DSMJ, all of which are pretty much incompatible with one another, while Futaba has only one version, and I have not heard any reports of an incompatible update. Futaba is fully confident that they don't need 1, 2, 3 or even more satellite receivers. The only thing they came out with recently was the S-Bus system, which is only a newer way of connecting the various components (servos, receivers, etc). Finally, every other 2.4Ghx vendor went for FHSS from day one, obviously something must be right about it!  Now... are we missing something obvious ?

And it is pretty well accepted that FHSS is better than DSSS.  And what is the new 4ch system ?

No offense against Spektrum/JR brethren, the above quote is such a cheap sales pitch, humiliating  to Futaba users. No doubt Dx6i much value proposition than 6EX, but then there is no point ridiculing Futaba.

As a matter of fact, JR receivers are as costly as Futaba and Futaba Receivers have yet to be Reversed Engineered by the Chinese!! So the Error correction etc should be a tough Algo to crack/implement on cheap MCU. Futaba has a dedicated chip for encoding/decoding, unlike many others who use mass commodity MCUs

So it would be unwise discount Futaba Technology.

First all 2.4Ghz was bad and unreliable, and all users of 2.4Ghz are "beta testers".  Now the ones being promoted in the store are great ! Wait till the other brand is the only one in stock, and everything will be cool !

Anwar, its not the fact that a 'Open' Forum owned by some commercial  entity should be Trojan horse all the time. There was a say my one of our religious preacher:
"You don't do good so that good would happen to you. You do good when you are good already"

Take example of the JJ Mehta ( renowned Photographic equipment retailer in Dadar Mumbai) Forum. They hardly interfere in the free speech. So much so that there are at least 10-20 items posted in the 'Buy-Sell' board every day! Now facilitating sale of used good at the cost of their own sale (they dont get any commission either) should have hit them. But I have hardly seen even a 'Cloaked' user speaking for JJ Mehta's commercial benefit, let alone the Admin himself shamelessly 'Pushing' their own items!

By the way I today received my AXN Floater , nicely packed (a little delayed though) and the good thing is that the Customs did not charge anything even when I declared full amount. Need wait till I get my Car, for the maiden.

I was taken aback by the amount of blatant factual errors. It is clear the Spektrum is clean DSSS, but the quote is "The Spektrum 6DXi is new tech and uses FHSS(Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) and is the more reliable and high tech way of 2.4GHz tech".  I hope someone responds there !

This article should provide a good insight into some weaknesses of DSM2 (which does NOT do frequency hopping), and why JR proceeded to make DSM-J (which DOES frequency hopping, like Futaba).

But what can one say when Futaba is said to be updating technology, when it is actually the Spektrum/JR folks who are forced to do it ?  Of course Futaba may *in the future* update theirs too (to provide new features), but twisting facts on currently known/available facts is not good.  Even today there is a post claiming that DSM2/Spektrum would do frequency hopping, and is therefore superior !  It is like an open endorsement of Futaba (plus Airtronics and others) technology, to people who know the differences.
