I had this  Turborix 2.4 G 6 channel radio  lying around with me now for quite some time :
http://www.r2hobbies.com/proddetail.php?prod=rcps61206_61411

I was always having problems with the software as far as this radios was concerned .

Motivated by Saju we did some looking around on the net  and came up with a solution , down loaded it and I realized the problem was with the driver , got it working .
Its the same as this one :
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9042&Product_Name=Hobby_King_2.4Ghz_6Ch_Tx_&_Rx_(Mode_2)
Check the reviews out .
This Tx has all the setting on the PC including model selection but the best part is to a Heli flyer it is great value as all settings like throttle curve , sub trim , pitch curve etc are all possible on this Tx .
In fact there are guys  who have developed special soft ware for this tx to use with a PDA :
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=999541

I think I have one set Spare which  will be around Rs 3000 + courier .

I must warn in advance that software has been a problem for this system but solutions are available on the net.

We test flew this on my good old faithful Easy cub today  and the results were good the response is not as fast as the Assan but value for money is great in this radio.

My opinion is that Assan is  better but for the cost this is a great option for those looking at 2.4 G at a lower cost , based on today's experience I am sure Saju will second that as well.

I've been using the 4 channel version of the same radio for quite some time now with no range or control problems... recently converted it to lipo power... like sai said, response is a bit sluggish but considering a beginner radio(advanced users may prefer the big brands Cheesy) for 3000rs, its a kill. Excellent value for money! Brings the entry cost into this hobby considerably........what say!

When I say response is slower I  mean in relation to Assan 2.4 G where it is almost instentaneous  .
I don't know of the Brand radio's to comment .
The response is definitely faster than the 72 Mhz radio.

BTW the package includes TX + 1 no. Rx .

I have parcel of a 2.4 Radio 6 channel with USB cable + 1 no. receiver  available .

Just to make life interesting here I thought any one adventurous  and creative enough can get special deal on this to try out for Rs 2500/- + courier , this is only for the forum members .

Just to add this is Tx that has all the functions required for Heli's but on the PC like EPA , Dual Rates ( DR ) , Mode selection directly from software , sub trim , pitch curve , swash AFR , Mixing of any 2 channels .2 nos Two way switch allocation and 2 nos Variable switch allocation.

Unlimited model memory as the model memory is on the PC and not on the Tx.

It has elevon , v tail and various types of mixing .

Value for money , but you got to know how to use it to your best advantage .

As I have said earlier guys have developed a program for PDA's to change models on the field .

Any one willing to try  Grin Grin

To clarify, you are talking about putting the Assan module in another radio, right ? So with Assan, the only option is to get some radio, and add the module, which is not rally beginner/budget friendly compared to this.

What part of this radio are programmable without using a PC ?  Can you do routine things like servo reversals, endpoints and model selections without having to mess with a PC ? (Of course we can dig up the manual, but it is easier if you post the details).

servo reversal is possible only on the 4 channel setup in the tx. in the 6 channel setup, all functions that mr sai has quoted including servo reversal is possible but only via the pc(usb cable). You have to tug the laptop to the field even for routine servo reversal function. if u r savy with microprocessor programming, it is possible to use it with a pda as well.

Edwin is right everything on the lap top.
But as I read some one say . top end functions and unlimited model memory at this price all model memory is on your computer . You import the settings of the model to the Tx.
You cant ask for too much at this price can you  Grin

Again Katty how many times do I have to tell we are not in your league boss  we  look for cheap workable solutions  Wink Grin Grin .

Check this thread out there are 112 pages of  mad guys  like us not including the many sub threads on this topic   :
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?p=12853217&highlight=software#post12853217

There are mad guys who have developed soft wares for PDA's to be able to use the features of this radio  and found economical access to top end heli functions .They have pulled out old  discarded PDA's for use with this . These features  would otherwise cost them at least  8-10 times the price of this radio to have.

We constitute the mad crowd always looking for value for money ( makhi choose ) type .

Our brand of aero modeling calls for creativity , innovation and experimenting    Wink Grin

BTW I try out these things myself  before I suggest it  who knows some crazy guy like me might benefit from it so I share the info.

We have funny ideas and concepts that may not appeal to you but not really bothered about guys like you we still continue to explore new ideas and ways despite guys and their LOL

BTW extra receiver price is around Rs 1300 each cheaper than FM receiver with crystal Grin Grin

Sai

PS : thanks though with your comments the thread keeps coming back on top and remains active  Wink Cheesy

BTW how often do you reverse the servo after the initial set up, do it once on your PC and save it to the model memory and that is it.

My pleasure Sai if this helps you sell maybe you can give me a commission. Cheesy

regarding your price why can't you be clear on the price why mention FM rx with crystal.

I had bought the FM rx crystal at Rs. 1000/- so do you give rs 300/- for buying ur rx.

Also please note i have clarified that i am not against anything in this hobby. So pls get that straight out of ur head. U seem to do the same with everybody u also had argued that FM was the best and there is niche market for it & you will only sell that then why get into 2.4ghz. Just goes to show that you can't take anything with a pinch of salt.

MICROSTAR 2000

hello sai

have you actually tested it using a PDA at field  Huh? if you have please post some spec. which model PDA,OS etc.
you also have to consider that its a good setup only if one already has a PDA and the provided software will work in it if not its just a ordinary basic radio with no features at all. I'm talking about in field usefulness unless one wants to carry around a laptop n change every time !

bye

Sahil,
I have used my lap top and have no issues carrying it with me to the field .

All I am saying is there are guys who have used a PDA  as well .

Yes it takes longer than  doing it on the radio but I am ok with it .

Tested the range  and the actual performance and it works fine .

So if some one  does not mind taking  some additional efforts they can get  6 channel 2.4 G with Mixing , unlimited models , heli functions of which I know nothing etc for under Rs 3K  , and if some one is creative enough and can figure out how to use a PDA to do it  it is theirs for Rs 2.5 K.
Guys abroad have used it with PDA etc  and India being like the software capital I am sure there are guys who can do it as well as guys abroad .

So this is for  such types who are willing to try something new  and different .

I am not saying I have done it or even claiming I can do it . I am just giving pointers to some one who can and is willing  to take a challenge  of doing something  no one else in India has done .

If guys abroad can do it why cant we , who knows if any of you can do it  the radio with the PDA code might be a very salable proposition I might buy back the software from you  so you can subsidize your aero modeling  Grin

The idea of this post is to see if we can in some way pool in resources to develop something  which can reduce  costs .

OK to motivate guys a bit further lets put it like this :

Special Cost of Radio for any brave heart on the forum  : Rs 2500/- + courier

Gift voucher of  Rs 1000/- from RCFORALL  for anyone who develops a PROGRAM indegeneously for Windows based PDA .

Hence effective cost  to the developer of a 6 channel radio : Rs 1500/- + courier

Now is any one willing to try  Grin Grin

I have only 1 radio right now so it goes to the first of the block to accept the challenge on this thread

Want to keep it transparent not thru PM's
