Most ESCs have a built in BEC. The servo type lead from the ESC has three wires- red for power, black/brown for ground (these two together are the BEC) and white for signal. You generally can power the receiver by connecting your ESCs servo lead to the throttle channel. You could also power the receiver from the BATT connector with the same lead from your ESC such as when you are binding the Tx and Rx. Be very careful with the polarity since it easy to fry your receiver.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the BATT channel is also used if you are powering your receiver from a separate LiPo and using a servo on the throttle channel such as in an engine powered craft.
