IN THRUST WE TRUST.....!!

just got my RCB 7X and plugged it up right away.....

firstly some features which were missed on the site and the description...

Features
model type : heli, plane
8 alpha-numeric naming for the model
7 model memory
wing type mixing ( flaperon, v-tail, delta)
input selection for gear, flap and aux channel,
wireless trainer function
individual channel assignment( can interchange channel as required
mode selection ( can be changed into MODE 1,2,3,4- may have to interchange the ratchet inside for the throttle hope fully they can do it for you on request)
throttle recovery function
dual rates and exponential on ele, ali, rud. with individual switch for each of them.
timer (chrono and stopwatch for timing flight)
6 different user required programmable mixing
throttle idle and throttle hold function for heli, and planes ( incase u wanna avoid powering up of your motor by mistake)
differential function for flaprons
flap throw setting
ali-rud mixing
ele- flap  mixing
travel adjust.( EPA- end point adjustments)
sub trims
reversing
adjustable stick lengths
wireless simulator dongle and software included
comes with a 8 cell battery holder pre-soldered with connector... no more soldering of NiCd/NiMH required

some more ( personal likes)
throttle has 34 ratchet locks or clicks unlike futaba/JR which have 24 hence smoother travel
tone changes as u add trims.. as u exceed it increases tone and reduce the tone reduces.
u can see the trimming and input of the channels
looks good.
adjustable stick lengths

some down sides. ( very few and to be corrected. but not much)
antenna has only 180 degree travel around.. and it is on the backside instead of front (a unique feature)
had some trouble in the aliron trimming switch for some time... needs a bit force in beginning to work  still a bit harsh
little bad packing. the stick was protruding out of the box.. was lucky... any one might receive a piece with a damaged stick( or pot or bracket may be)
the neck strap buckle is high on top... will need a balancer to use a neck strap properly. ( then the switch will come below the balancer )
no protective film on the LCD. and the LCD is a bit dim.. may be trouble to read in broad sunlight and even small font( may be i am used to the big futaba ones)
charger not included. it may work with std futaba charger with a 9.6V o/p

on a lighter note.
i was expecting a RCBAZAAR neck strap along with the Tx.

and please get multiple receivers in store along with Tx lipo....

will add more once i find time and put the manual CD in the PC  and read the manual if it has any added function.
more detailed usage and performance report to be added later. or once i go flying

some mod required in the manual...

required input should be 8 NiMH ( as in the holder u supplied) shows 7 in the manual
under battery box and replacement...it says 4 alkaline batteries.. it should be 8

what else could have been added
the pitch curve in acro mode. specially for people in 3d
a thermocole case inside for the Tx (inside the box)
custom firmware.. with the RCB name on it.

am i asking too much  Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Looks like it's got everything, kitchen sink & commode included  Grin

trust me.. if that was  included i would have built my house around it...

was suppose to be tone changes...

u got to try on your self.. u can understand... the tone gets sharper as u more up while trimming and on a lower note when u reduce the trim...

My 9x too has only 180 deg of antenna rotation. Are there radios with more than 180 deg rotation?

Can the timer be throttle activated (i.e. timer increments WHENEVER the throttle is above a set level, like more than 15%) ?  That is one feature that I use every time I setup a new model.  This is much better than a throttle that keeps continually incrementing, even if there is a delay in take-off etc.

some more points added as i am still experimenting with it...!

it come along with only 2 sim software viz. FMS and Real Flight G4...

but if u swap the dongle with something like this...
http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/810-avionic-12-in1-integrated-simulator.aspx

and u can have all the sims u want... inc phoenix and all other.

also they got the 2200Mah lipo.. for the Tx. costs around 980... cheaper than the NiCds( good brand like eveready cost around 250 for a pack of 2.. u need 4 packs..making it 1K with only 700Mah capacity or 2100Mah )

Eveready rechargable NiMh battery cost Rs.400 for a set of 4 700mAh batteries + charger as far as i know.

Link here shows the same at Rs.375

Dont know about NiCad's though Smiley

Two questions,

Does it have a PPM sum output on the receiver and is it possible to set up a throttle failsafe? Both of these are extremely important for my application so if anyone has any idea.....?

Fly High

In my view a radio for a newbie is entirely depends on their budget.. The RCB7x is a fantastic radio with respect to their price and features.. Those who are seriously in to this hobby can Spent some extra bugs to get this more than FSCT6B..
As you are a beginner You need to practice in simulator Which is included in this Deal already.
Overall This is a good radio for this price and suitable for beginners..  Thumbs Up
Always depends on the budget as well...

Nice video, but few things which i didn't got it from the review

1. the receiver can't go more than 6v, so only suitable for the park flyers and not the big models as stated in video?
2. the receiver doesn't fits into 450 heli which is a common size heli, so radio more for airplane then the heli's ?
3. there were few basic feature compared in start, but later the video was more about the product review of RCB 7x rather than comparison of both radio's.

it shall be helpful if the list of items or chart can be posted with the difference of features between DX6i/DX7 and RCB 7x , as that shall be more clear for members.

No sir its not that the reciever does not fit its tht i wanted the reciever to go into the frame as the fbl gyro and the esc already tookuo space on both the sides of the heli and i did not mount the gyro on the top cause of vibes on heli as any gyrobis very sensitive so there is no problem with the reciever fiting on either side if u mounting gyro on top of tail boom hilder ...another thing was that not everybody runs a high voltage setup to go beyond 6v ...i had setup my heli for a hv setup of 7.4v cause my servos neede the voltage .....as i did state that is all personal preference and not a con ....it does fit on a 450 but wont fit if u plan on putting it vetween the heli frame sorry its not mentioned and all normal servos run on 4.5 to 6volts so  reciever has no problem upto 6v only special high voltage servos require 6v+... Another thing was that so many feature in the rcb7x tht is not available in my dx6i so i should have somethign to compare it too it has lil more features than dx7 also ..and the price is just awesome 4.5k if rcb was available 3yrs ago i would have not bouth a spectrum dx6i for sure  Thumbs Up

The dx6i is left in the dirt by rcb7x ....the spectrum dx7 is no way close when in comes to price plus feature like channel assignment is not available in dx7 so is wireless trainer ....but then again things become crystal clear u can spend 22k on a spectrum or get something with a little bit more for 1/4 the price ...... i got the backlight long time ago from hobbysea.com. the size is different although as its made for 9x. so you have to only cut the excess from the end without wires, and  it'll fit easily, i also used hot glue gun to make it and the Lcd stick.

one can also make the lcd from low cost home things for as little as 15 rs . see one of my 9x with blue backlight

The Spektrum DX6i / DX7 has a proven track record and you can trust any model on it.
Can't really say that about this product - it still has to prove itself on the field.

RCB7x is a copy of the Dx7 - so it is obviously worth 1/4 of its price (that's the way clones are priced - otherwise who will buy them?)

Better compare this radio with other radio in its class (like the 9x)

+1 to raja and not to take away RCB's effort, and since they had nothing to do with the copying, i am saying this. Chinese, shamelessy clone anything and everything, no intellectual property rights, no ethics no nothing. priced at 1/4 for a clone with no R&D cost is just about fair price IMHO

guys..
the intentions here was to introduce an radio that is great for beginners including a simulator which does not make them think twice before entering into this hobby... yes gusty this topic has been beaten to death not just here but also internationally... as much as i tend to agree with you (i myself own futaba, spektrum, jr and have been flying for years with these and had good times and bad times with these radio like brown outs etc) BUT the thought of a beginner spending rs 15k - 20K plus for a 7ch radio who will fly his home made plane for rs 3000 does not justify... coming to the topic of the chinese cloning or even selling products under other names than they were intended to manufacture i do not forsee these stopping in the near future... and frankly do not care as much as I get the same end result with 1/4 of the cost..

+1 sujju  Grin .....and guys let it be a clone or a good brand both have issues spectrum when they launched their dx8 just go and check out how many seriius problema it had 3d pilot bert kamerrer had 2 of his helicopter eat dirt due to tx rx fault of dx8 so end result matters no matter if its a clone or a branded tx ....if it has gr8 features and works great really and having such a low cost then wat hell give it a swirl

Smiley No one in the world - including those who are having trillions of patents or intellectual property rights can't move a proverbial 'hair' from our Chinese folks body or else where  >Cheesy. They care a hoot for all these things. Make cheap clones of what is available, sell them in numbers, make some money and scoot off...... Who cares !!!! If these copies give you good service, it's well and good, you are lucky. but if it just packed up and called it a day, too bad, your luck just ran out. Bang Head  you get what you pay for.  Grin

Most of us would not be able to afford this hobby if it weren't for the Chinese.

In the Indian pharma sector generic medicines
are available for a fraction of the price of the proprietary medicines .... Many poor people
are able to access decent healthcare because of this. Whether this is wrong or right I leave
it to you to decide, however in this case too the India Pharma companies are violating
intellectual property rights.

BUT the thought of a beginner spending rs 15k - 20K plus for a 7ch radio who will fly his home made plane for rs 3000 does not justify

+1

..chinese cloning or even selling products under other names than they were intended to manufacture i do not forsee these stopping in the near future... and frankly do not care as much as I get the same end result with 1/4 of the cost..

I echo the opinion likewise, in the same beath, i say, Clones are Clones, real stuff is real (In most cases, exceptions are always there, RCB7X could be one), Chinese clone fighters like Lavi, Sukoi 30, EuroFighter etc, all are failures, freindly countries who bought them are crying, so many lost thier lives.

Back to the topic perse, great effort RCB Thumbs Up

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Since we are discussing radio pricing, here is a shocker, which a fellow flyer shared with me at the field couple of days back.

I have started a new thread on this.

Well, to not to shoot in the dark, i just bought one radio to review, later, it went to a pupil of mine.

Pluses
1. Value for money ? certainly  Thumbs Up
2. PPM out on a SimU channel (Four Channels), good for wirelss sim and though not recommended could be used on an aeroplane too, decoded.
3. Assignable Channels.
4. Rx binds to two TX, one as master and the other as Slave, so with two Tx and one Rx you have a wireless trainer
5. Five point Throttle curve, great for heli
6. Throttle Hold, Pit Trim & Hov trim are standard but nice ergonomics

Minuses

1. Obviously cannot be compared to a build of a Spektrum, plastic does feel and look cheaper than spektrum, including the switches
2. For a newbie, programming options are slightly confusing. but then there are no free lunches, newbie has to put in some hours on the manual and hands on , on the radio.
3. For some reason my TX did not work well with the supplied Realflight G4, stick did not calibrate at all. However it worked with G5 , Aerofly, and Phoenix  well (Not supplied)
4. Sim wires are confusing, on the Simulator cable Red carries signal, White positive and Black negative.
5. It is not a High Voltage Rx, cannot be used for High Torque new gen servos, unlike the latest FRSky Rx.

My Final Verdict is
Definitely a good radio for the price, it is a blasphemy, however to compare it with the spektrum (since i owned and flew extensively with many spektrum radios, incl the 18 Ch one)

today i went to butchery ground and flew su 26 M from rcbazaar using rcb7x, the video is not very clear at times and i am sorry for the same, the video is taken with HD video recording  Bang Head the tx range is good as far as i could barely see the model. already plenty is said about the radio, so nothing more to add except that it is great value for money and for beginers this is imp Giggle.( mostly). the radio has much to cover with respect to its track record and i am one of those who would say that i like it.

the wireless simulator is the best part and it even works with clearview rc simulator.

the plane on 6s is really very powerful

IN THRUST WE TRUST.....!!

i can agree with tech4share. there are some glitches if the antennas are kept near... can even bee seen in  G4 sim.

also one most important feature missing... low voltage alarm. left the Tx on last night in my room and found that the battery died by morning. there was no low V alarm. but just died. on my way for a new battery pack.

reversing and subtrims are not connected.... if u reverse the subtrim changes direction. ( if they are related they would be better)

reversing channels is screwed up.

ch 3: elevator
ch4: rudder( thats same)

can some one else confirm... or is it just me..??

yes it does, i observed too, some software fix is neccessary, also there is moderate (manageable) jitter in channel 4 in my radio

PS
Yes! i have done everything changed four servos, changed channel assigment etc, lastly reassigned channel and it is OK (Eliminated jitter channel)

Servo jitter in a new tx is usually because of poor quality/poorly fitted pots.

Solution : open up clean pots with spirit and reassemble

@girishsarwal rcb7x manual has the instruction to do so. Check the rx for two tiny buttons over it. One is for trainer function and the other is for bind. Just press that bind button with tx on..

Thanks Avesh, but like I mentioned, my problem was I could not access the manual on the CD, the recording layer seemed defective. wouldn't have posted such a dumb question otherwise. I now have the manual downloaded (location provided by RCBazaar guys) and your instructions.

But yes, something that goes without saying for RCBazaar, their support is great and really follow up on stuff. Look forward to bind it, have fun and share my experience. Many thanks gentlemen.

@coco you need to setup throttle end points. For your purpose just check on youtube "set throttle point dx7".

Can anybody (preferrably a direct end user) post a long term usage review of the RCB7x and the RCB6i to help potential buyers ?
What according to the sellers and service providers are the teething and recurrent problems of both these sets after about a year of launch and what are the reasons of control loss and other problems which have been reportedly experienced by some users?

best regards,
Dr. A Ghosh

i want to know is there any receiver can be connected to avionic rcb7x

every biginner use to fix these in their first plane and what if it crach out in my case it blow up before reaching to the airplane

i have every item to fix on airplane except the receiver , i suggest rc bazaar should have good supply of
receiver because it is unique item with work only with avioninc 7x if there was any match then i can continue my project rest

every sunday i have only thing to do is to watch update on rcbazaar website this is bad there should be any alternate so that we can continue with our project.

I am in need of some assistance to connect rc electrical
Equipment I was working on my next project with equipment from rc bazaar
Project cost me rs 10000 I got everything but was fail to connect them
Properly and esc and receiver blow up
Here is the detail

As it is given on the website of rc bazaar on avionic 7 channel transmitter setup, I connected esc with the battery And then to the 3 rd channel of the receiver then I start the master Button of the receiver and after that I switch on the transmitter but, I smell that something is burning their so I stop connecting servo to check for connectivity,

I Remove all the connection and put my hand on esc it was heated and when I see the back side of the receiver I see the spot where it burnout and some smoke collected in the box as you can see in the picture

Now
I have nothing to say maybe it could be my luck or something went wrong. I got everything battery
Motor, transmitter, and esc I also build airplane for my setup only thing
Remaining is receiver so I spend about on these items I want it to work
My project is completely stopped as new set of receiver will com e within 2 weeks

I waited for 3 weeks then I call rc bazaar to respond me about the receiver, but I got negative feed back I do not know the exact time period of getting new receiver

As it is china made anyone in the form can help me is it tx is compatible with any 2.4 ghz receiver so that I can continue my project, Reset I can not rely on rc bazaar they hands off from the receiver, is fly sky receiver is compatible with avionic tx
..

I do not understand how a 5 amp of current can blow up the receiver at the first time.
The simulator provided with the pack is also not working. I even do not have any documents with this package how to setup with the receiver, no details at all.

If we are in a hobby then parts will broke out and it is supplier’s duty to have all parts supply so that we can replace it and continue our project, if receiver is unique and airplane crash landed then what to do everything is of no use

In that case we have to buy a new set of transmitter and receiver, that is not correct and what if we open the pack and rc equipment blow up before we install it in our plane
What we can say about the product.

i do not want to give a bad impression of this product , because when i see the transmitter it has lots of feature which realy impress me i realy want this product to be a hit in the market ,

and i realy want this tranmitter for my airplane thats why i am waiting for 1 month to get receiver from rc bazaar and i continue my project .

but it is a biginner
product and rcbazaar should provide some equipment on stock so that we can continue with the project or there should be alternate reciever which can be fixed on this radio

otherwise without parts it is a box with switches which is of no use......

Hi friends,
I'm also using RCB7x. Recently I purchased Skysurfer 1400 mm wingspan and assembled it. Now it is ready to fly. One thing I want to clarify is ; when I open the throttle , upto 5 points (or steps) the motor will not start. After 5 or 6 th point it starts. Is this normal or I have to make changes to Tx

Hi,
It seems that you need to recalibrate your ESC. I hope the problem would be solved after it.
 Hats Off

Although the beep pattern differs from ESC to ESC but the setup and procedure remains same usually.
The procedure for calibration is as follows:
1.) Disconnect the battery and all previous setup.
2.) Install your receiver and connect the ESC wire to the channel 3(Throttle) of your receiver.
3.) Now switch on your radio and increase the throttle to maximum.
4.) Now connect the battery.
5.) You'll hear beep pattern. Although it is somewhat different in different ESC's but on the second beep you need to bring throttle to zero.      Disconnect the battery and connect it again(Keep throttle zero after disconnecting the battery)
Now your ESC is calibrated.
I hope after this your problem would get solved.
 Hats Off

Also, set the trims of throttle channel on ideal in your transmitter and then follow the calibration procedure.

this tx do not have any range issue because i fly very high using this tx ,
i found  problem in delta configuration in delta mixing i found controls are working abruptly
and it is impossible to fly airplane in that situation.

i now have a futaba

just got my RCB 7X and plugged it up right away.....

individual channel assignment( can interchange channel as required
mode selection ( can be changed into MODE 1,2,3,4- may have to interchange the ratchet inside for the throttle hope fully they can do it for you on request)

link to the Tx http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/1773-avionic-rcb7x-7ch-tx-with-7ch-rx-and-wireless-simulator.aspx

Please note that mode change is not possible in this transmitter as per RCBazzar customer support and they will not change it for you. If you open this transmitter warranty is voided and RCBazaar people will not entertain you regarding this matter.

I recently ordered this transmitter with the hope to change it to mode1 and now stuck with mode2 as I cannot change it to mode1. Mode2 is useless for me and warranty is voided as as opened tx to with the hope to change the mode.
