Hi all
i could remember when this tx arrived to me i was quite disappointed to see that ch5 and ch6 2 and 3 position switches 
today i opened it and replaced thos ch5 and ch6 with variables .
1.remove tx batt. Open the tx 4screws on back and gently remove back.
2. There u can see 2 small rectangular pcb namely g3 a and g3b 
3. Desolder the swith and replace with a 1k ohm potentiometer
4. Repack it
sorry i am a electronics guy so i dont know how to apply the settings of othe variables on these aux channels.
I also did a mod to add 2 more channels to the tx but i only have rz6 so i dont recieve those 7th and 8th channel . But stay tuned i will soon fing out .

Tanmay, I have a bare CC3000 laying around, if that's of any help. Although, I think it runs WiFi protocol.

that is cool. i have APM and to get all six modes like loiter, pos hold i need six position switch. i think we can mode rcb6i for that too.

Yes easily bt i needed a variable so i did so .
U can use a 6 pos switch i dont have it readily.

Tanmay Mathur... this is some great work by you. Maybe we can change the RCB6i to 7ch soon in full scale production... and we will be launching a 8ch receiver soon...

and finally we are working on a Long range module (DIY) for the avionic radios with range of around 5Kms... should be ready in a couple of months...

In rcb6i , module could not be changed untill unless the whole motherboard is changed . As i see rf module and microprocesser are in a shngle pcb .
What could be done at max to increase range is add a rf amplifier at  the stock antennae output.

Good news for rcb6i owners .
I found the way to adapt the software to utilise the 7th channel .
It would need a stlink or st link mini dongle .

Modding the RCB OS10 is even simpler. It already has a micro-USB port.

Any scope of using external module with rcb6i?, like taking ppm signal to flysky module for flying v911 with my favourite rcb6i?

Yes easily but the transmitter will need to be in simulator mode.

Discovered one more thing regarding the tx module i.e. Cc2500 that its limiting the transmission power . The tx says its transmitting with 20db but its not. I hope some programming expert should help me . Hardwarely only thing that could be done that is 1 diode should be remove in the module.

what was the advantage of adding the 7th channel?

Why people buy 9x not a t6 ? 3 more channels.  more channels =more functions.

Now plan to add a patch antennae. Stock antenneae is only reliable upto 700metres.   also will add 1 more dsc port for head tracker.  will introduce a charging port to charge tx lipo. It would be nice to have a programming port but programming is not my cup of tea.

So if any of us is using onto esc (multicoptor) we cannot power the Fc through tx

Why not you can use femal header jumper cords.
Currently using the rx as wireless simulator dongle.
Gives me 300 metre+ range. :-p

The flaperon mixing is not working . My aim for the mod . Totaly sad . Disappointed. When i flap down the flap just deflect 1 or1.5 degrees. What to do ?

When you are at 1-6 mixing:
Press exit and increase the positive/negative percentage according to your needs

Whatever i do nothing throw increment.
Totally disappointed

All this in 2 pos switch mode . I cant expect to work it in variable mode
