Hi ananya,

For a beginner FlySky FS i6X (or i6) is really good. Its about 4 - 5k (with the receiver) depending on the source you buy it from. The i6x version has an advantage over the i6 version as its upgrade able to a 10channel receiver incase you want to upgrade later on. Both have a ton of functionalities for a beginner and will be more than you would want. I have the i6X variant with the IA10B receiver and i can vouch that it works very well, lets you fly 3D and is really worth the money.

If youre looking primarily to fly a drone then FlySky FS i6S would be a better option since its gimbals are better built and has a touch screen capacitive display. Its around 5 - 6k (with the receiver). This isnt advisable if youre planning on flying aircrafts bec the throttle stick is self centering (ie it wont hold your throttle position on its own) and the trimming cant be done during the flight by a single person as its too complicated (when opposed to the normal trim tabs)

If you want something more sophisticated but relatively cheaper than Futaba and Transis, then Radiolink AT10 - ii is a reasonable choice. Its priced around 10 - 12k with the receiver and has better quality gimbals and a lot more functionality.

Check out the channel RCwithAdam. He covers the review of the above transmitters (Flysky ones).

All of the above transmitters are widely available on Aliexpress for much cheaper prices than what you would get them in India (RCMumbai or RCVortex etc) if you dont mind waiting about a month for it to arrive (when a lower shipping rate like 300 is applied). A word of advise is to see the sellers reviews and the number of people who have brought the same device. Not being biased or anything but the seller "U-Angel-1998" from Aliexpress is very reliable. Ive brought almost all my electronics from them and its been working seamlessly, Given the current scenario of having restrictions on Aliexpress imposed by the Indian Government, not sure if you would be able to buy them right now. In that case try contacting the seller directly and ask them if they could ship it separately to you for the same price if the seller has good reviews. That shouldnt be a problem since the shipping company would provide the tracking information.

This is a genuine review and im not favoring them in any way. I had a friend of mine give me this advise and it really helped so i hope to pass on the same so as to help you.

Hope this helps,
Nathan D'Souza

Hi Nathan,

Pls don't suggest import of radio equipment from overseas.

There is 80% chance that the equipment will get confiscated by customs. Financial loss apart...the importer will be served a legal notice from the govt. That will be scary enough and frustrating for a new comer.

We have to manage with whatever is available in Indian stores.  Though most of them are out of stock.

Thanks.

Hi shirsa
I think Nathan's suggestion is not bad... I'm a beginner too and I ordered my FS-i6X for INR 3300 from U-angel seller and to be very honest the whole thing is reliable.
The customs do not confiscate it. My friend from this forum got his FS-i6x as well from the same seller. But the customs can levy duty in random cases.. I paid duty and my friend didn't. But it still is budget friendly. And also certificates for this are available to download from SaralSanchar website.
The only thing is that if you do not order through aliexpress, you do not get buyer protection and that is an issue.

There are lots of instances in this forum where radios got confiscated. As I said 80% chance.

Also could you pls provide the links for certificates for fsi6 or taranis any model. That will be nice help.

I understand but I won't say 80% chance at all!!
you can go ahead and see the feedback panel in U Angel seller's product page. 90% of Indian reviews say that they got the thing.

Here is the link for the certificates. I won't recommend to download it until you are asked to show one to the customs or anyone.

U Angel ..... honestly never heard of it at least in this forum. Could you pls provide link in this forum where people reviewing or talking about that supplier?

Also could you pls provide the links for certificates for specific models ... the above one lands in the landing page with thousands of entries for different categories. Need for taranis or radiomaser.

If you want to "see people reviewing or talking about that supplier"  you can go ahead and see that on aliexpress.
Unfortunately, the website doesn't have specific links for models. Go for the 'All' category and wait a few minutes it takes time(there are thousands of entries) and then on the right side search for your thing... It is there on the page

Hi Shirsa,

Thank you for expressing your concern regarding the matter, which is deeply appreciated (no im not being sarcastic). Ive been ordering motors and ESC's (Scorpion from HongKong and ESC's from Hobbyking, USA since the past 3 years for my college club) given that they are pretty reliable brands, I wouldnt ask everyone to buy them. I also encouraged people to check the reviews and then make a decision.

This by no means is trying to prove you wrong. You are right to some extent and people should only buy from sellers with a good reputation.

The reason I started looking on Aliexpress because NOT ONE store in India has the kind of motor (Around a 850 - 1250KV Motor with 1.5Kg of Thrust on a 3S) I was looking for this May. It was then did i turn to look at various companies websites but found the shipping too costly (around 3k per item). It was then did i look at Aliexpress.

Given your experience in the hobby, if you know of any sources/ stores in India that have similar motors or sell such transmitters (apart from the FS-I6X barely any transmitters are available) could you please let me know. I'd be grateful for the same.

Hope we are on the same page.

Regards,
Nathan D'Souza

For motor you can consider.. http://www. rc hyderabad .com/remote-control-planes/brushless-motor-rc-plane/emax-gt2820-india.html

For transmitters the most popular one these days are radiomaster ...https://anubisrc.com/product/radiomaster-tx16s-hall-carbon-fibre/  (Pre Order) .... I recently bought some items from them ...received in a few days.

For high end like Futaba or Spektrum you can consider... https://havochobby.in/collections/radios

You can also check the sites listed here http://www.rcindia.org/rc-outlets-and-resellers/mega-list-of-all-rc-outlets-in-india/
(not all of them are verified)

Thanks.  Hats Off
