Hello,

Can somebody please explain what is the difference between a 2.4ghz and a 72mhz controller?(Except for the frequencies used) Why is 2.4 ghz said to be better and as a result more expensive? Also on the internet 72 mhz radios are becoming rare. How are the channels implemented?

Thanx in advance

IN THRUST WE TRUST.....!!

hey,

It like intel pentium I; and intel i7..... in computers

pentium 1 is no longer available and nobody wants it......

intel i7 is latest technology and hence expensive.......  Salute Salute

i dont know much about the channels implemented  Head Scratching but 72 mhz is easier to use.... (atleast i feel like that..... switch it on and you are ready to go no need to link up Bang Head)

ask some senior fliers near by, they can explain properly....

or there are people here on the forum who can help...

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Most of this is already answered... please search with related keywords.  Here are some related discussions, please also look at the "Related Topics" under each of these.

http://www.rcindia.org/radios-and-receivers/why-fm-radios-(72mhz-etc)-are-not-a-good-idea-any-more/

Please note that situation has changed a bit from the days of these threads, mostly because of the availability of both cheap 2.4Ghz radio systems (from HobbyKing /  Turborix etc), AND due to availability of "compatible" receivers for brand name 2.4Ghz radios.  It is quite interesting that whole DSM2 compatible receivers are available for less than the cost of a crystal used in Mhz radios !  So cost should NOT be a factor anymore in considering 2.4Ghz.
