Guys,

I read lots of good and bad reviews about the 9 CH Tx / Rx from Fly Sky, has anyone used it here ?? The following link gives a nice over view of the system. Please share your reviews or experiences here, these will help newbies like me.

http://www.helireviews.com/fly-sky-fs-th9x-9ch-transmitter/

Specifications

The Fly Sky FS-TH9X is modular system, so specifications may vary depending on the module you select. The transmitter itself is loaded with features, some of which you will usually only find on some high end transmitters.

Number of Channels: 8ch PPM/9ch PCM
Display: 128*64 LCD
Support Type: Heli/Acro/Glid
User Models: 8
Stick Modes: 4
Encoder Type: PPM/PCM
Sub Trim: Yes
Simulator Interface: Yes
Buzzer: Yes
Low Voltage Display: Yes
The menus are clearly and easy to navigate using the 128×64 pixel LCD display. The only issue had was that the +/- buttons are back to front with the positive on the left.

Mr. Sai will soon be selling these radios.

You can fit a 2.4ghz module behind it without any soldering or any kind of newbee operation..

Looks quite promising I must say..

Ya Atul, I got that update...and it sounds quite lucrative  Drool . I'd like to take some reviews from veterans for using it for a 500 size heli....Lot of people out there are little skeptical about the range and all. But I also read that Fly Sky is the actual model used by Eurgle, Turnigy, Imax and others rebranded....

But people face problem with reference to programming it mainly because the company user manual is like Chinese-English. The Bind process for connecting  Tx / Rx is also tricky....

Lot of people have questions about its range. I hope we will get all these information from Mr. Sai once he gets this baby to Indian Market.

I have personally used a FrSky 2.4ghz module fitted to a JR transmitter like in this case its fitted to a turnigy or fly sky tx.

There was no range problem and I will post a video later whereas this guy flew a slow stick in btwn those huge electric diamond shape poles and I was there to witness it.

As far as the manual is concerned its not a big deal.

cheers

What do you want to do with the 5th channel ?  In other words, if a servo is plugged into channel 5, what function does that servo do ?

According to the manual (http://www.rcmodelpart.com/photo/FS-TH9X-MANUAL.pdf), the "AUX-CH" menu will be used.  See page 19.  You should be able to assign one of the switches to channel 5 using this menu, and then use that switch to physically flip the servo between the two end positions.

Typically, when you buy a new set, it always comes as a set with TX with battery, RX and TX charger.

In other cases, the package MAY include additional items, like RX battery, 3 or 4 servos, etc.

Please do not duplicate posts...most people use the "recent/unread" options, so they will see your post regardless of where you post it (duplicate deleted).

One possibility is that the radio is  Futaba standard, you have to reverse the throttle channel in the radio, otherwise it will go into programming mode.

Note that beeps are made when you power up pretty much any motor/ESC combo, it is their way of communicating to us.  But if throttle is reversed, you will hear beeps regardless of whether you increase throttle or not.

Make sure your connections are not reversed either.

You should connect esc to throttle channel..provided it has inbuilt BEC.

Also, in some ESCs, the motor will not run until you set max throttle position.  In any case, keep your hands away from the prop during any testing (or test for short periods without the prop).

This is done by taking the throttle to max position, and then lowering it down :

http://www.rcindia.org/electric-planes/normal-start-up-procedure-for-electrics/

Note that the above step is dependent on the ESC model, so may not apply exactly that way to all ESCs.

You should connect esc to throttle channel..provided it has inbuilt BEC.

Right.  Pretty much all receivers can accept power through any channel, although many of them have one of the channels marked as a battery channel.  In the case of electric setups involving ESCs with built in BECs, the power is coming from ESC to receiver, and the throttle signal needs to be sent from the receiver to the ESC... so the connection needs to be on the throttle channel.

The standalone "battery" connection is when you use external BECs, or separate receiver batteries (as is common for glow setups etc).

When you are not using ESC with inbuilt BEC then u need to provide external power supply for your receiver. That is the reason battery slot is given.
